Eleanor Rosamund Barraclough
Eleanor Rosamund Barraclough is a British cultural historian, broadcaster and writer. She is a lecturer in Environmental History at Bath Spa University. Previously she was an associate professor of medieval history, and literature at Durham University with particular focus on the history and mythology of the Vikings. She was named a 2013 BBC/Arts and Humanities Research Council New Generation Thinker and has presented programmes such as BBC Four's ''Beyond the Walls: In Search of the Celts'' and hosted the Time Travellers podcast on BBC Radio 3. BBC Radio 3 is a British national radio station owned and operated by the BBC. It replaced the BBC Third Programme in 1967 and broadcasts classical music and opera, with jazz, world music, Radio drama, drama, High culture, culture and the arts also featuring. ''The Times Literary Supplement'' (''TLS'') is a weekly literary review published in London by News UK, a subsidiary of News Corp. History The ''TLS'' first appeared in 1902 as a supplement to ''The Times'' but became a separate publication in 1914. Many distinguished writers have contributed, including T. S. Eliot, Henry James and Virginia Woolf. Reviews were normally anonymous until 1974, when signed reviews were gradually introduced during the editorship of John Gross. This aroused great controversy.
