Eleanor Burns
Eleanor Burns (born July 3, 1945, in Zelienople, Pennsylvania) is a master quilter and former TV series host of ''Quilt in a Day'', which aired in 1994 on PBS for six seasons. Career Burns first started stitching on her Aunt Edna's feed sacks. Her first book, ''Make a Quilt in a Day: Log Cabin Pattern'', was self-published in 1978. The book has been credited with starting a quilt-making revolution as people learned Burns's style of stitching a quilt. She has since written more than 100 books on the subject of quilting. In addition, Burns has written many patterns and developed a series of specialty rulers for quilting. The ''Quilt in a Day'' TV series, which first aired in 1990, was based on Burns's book ''Make a Quilt in a Day''. Award In 2012, Burns was inducted into the Quilters Hall of Fame. Zelienople, Pennsylvania
Zelienople is a borough in Butler County, Pennsylvania, north of Pittsburgh. The population was 3,812 at the 2010 census. Geography Zelienople is located in southwestern Butler County, situated on the south bank of Connoquenessing Creek, in an area that is rich with coal and iron ore. The elevation is above sea level. The borough is bordered by Jackson Township on the north, southeast, and south, and by the borough of Harmony on the northeast. The western border of Zelienople is the Beaver County line. U.S. Route 19 (Perry Highway) is the main north–south road through the center of town. RFD-TV is an American pay television channel owned by Rural Media Group, Inc. The channel features programming devoted to rural issues, concerns and interests. The channel's name is a reference to Rural Free Delivery, the name for the United States Postal Service's system of delivering mail directly to rural patrons. The Marie Webster House, also known as George Webster Jr. and Marie Daugherty House, is a historic house at 926 South Washington Street in Marion, Indiana. Quilt
A quilt is a multi-layered textile, traditionally composed of two or more layers of fabric or fiber. Commonly three layers are used with a filler material. These layers traditionally include a woven cloth top, a layer of batting or wadding, and a woven back combined using the techniques of quilting. This is the process of sewing on the face of the fabric, and not just the edges, to combine the three layers together to reinforce the material. Stitching patterns can be a decorative element.
