Eldon Maquemba
Eldon Martins Maquemba, known as Maquemba (born 8 June 1984), is an Angolan professional footballer who played as a striker and as a winger. He also holds Portuguese citizenship. Career Maquemba was born in Benguela, Angola. He started his senior career with Clube Oriental de Lisboa, in the Portuguese Second Division. and played also in the same league with teams Clube Desportivo dos Olivais e Moscavide, A.D. Portomosense, Imortal Desportivo Clube. In 2007, Maquemba signed with Swedish team Bodens BK. A year later, he moved to England to play for Halesowen Town F.C. For the 2008–09 season, he signed with Olympiakos Nicosia in Cyprus and was sold in January 2009 to Clube Recreativo da Caála in Angola. In January 2010, he was close to signing a two-year deal with Peñarol of Uruguay but signed with Vietnamese club Đồng Tâm Long An F.C. Benguela (; Umbundu: Luombaka) is a city in western Angola, capital of Benguela Province. Benguela is one of Angola's most populous cities with a population of 555,124 in the city and 561,775 in the municipality, at the 2014 census. History Portuguese rule Benguela was founded in 1617 as ''São Felipe de Benguela'' by the Portuguese under Manuel Cerveira Pereira, 8th Governor of Angola (1604–1607). It was long the centre of an important trade, especially in slaves to Brazil and Cuba. Ships anchored about off the shore, in depths of and transferred loads to smaller boats which used five or six jetties in the town. However, the nearby deep-water sheltered harbour of Lobito was a much larger port. Besides the churches of S. Felipe and S. The COSAFA Cup or COSAFA Senior Challenge Cup is an annual tournament for teams from Southern Africa organized by Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA), inaugurated after the ban against the Republic of South Africa had been lifted and the African Cup of Nations had been staged there in 1996. Girabola
Girabola, or ''Campeonato Nacional de Futebol em Séniores Masculinos'', is the top division of Angolan football. It is organized by the Angolan Football Federation. The league winner and runner-up qualify for the CAF Champions League. Girabola ZAP In January 2016, Angolan subscription TV satellite and cable provider ZAP, the Angolan Football Federation and the Girabola clubs, signed a three-year deal in which ZAP will have broadcast rights over all Girabola matches.
