''Elbow Beach'' is the third solo album by English singer Louise. It was released on 31 July 2000 and reached no.12 on the UK Albums Chart. Background After the success of her 1997 album '' Woman in Me'', Louise married her longtime boyfriend, footballer Jamie Redknapp. Louise then spent just under a year making what she claimed was her "most personal album to date". Titled ''Elbow Beach'', it was named after the location of her honeymoon. Creatively, Louise was more involved in the process of this album than her previous two, co-writing nine of the twelve tracks. Single releases In July 2000, the album's first single "2 Faced" went straight into the UK Singles Chart at no.3, becoming Louise's highest charting single. The track "Beautiful Inside" was released as the second single from the album and peaked at no.13 in November 2000. Louise Redknapp
Louise Elizabeth Redknapp (née Nurding, born 4 November 1974) is an English singer, songwriter and media personality. She was a member of Eternal, an R&B girl group which debuted in 1993 with their quadruple-platinum studio album '' Always & Forever''. In 1995, she departed from the group for a solo career, in which she released the albums ''Naked'' (1996), '' Woman in Me'' (1997) and ''Elbow Beach'' (2000). Aside from music, Louise has presented several television shows and was a judge on the UK version of ''So You Think You Can Dance''. She was married to the English former footballer Jamie Redknapp. In 2016, Louise reached the final in the fourteenth series of BBC One's '' Strictly Come Dancing''. Jamie Redknapp
Jamie Frank Redknapp (born 25 June 1973) is an English former professional footballer who was active from 1989 until 2005. He is a pundit at Sky Sports and an editorial sports columnist at the ''Daily Mail''. A technically skillful and creative midfielder, who was also an accurate and powerful free-kick taker, Redknapp played for AFC Bournemouth, Southampton, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur, captaining the latter two. He also gained 17 England caps between 1995 and 1999, and was a member of England’s squad that reached the semi finals of Euro 1996. Wu-Tang Clan is an American hip hop group formed in Staten Island, New York City, in 1992. "Le Freak" is a 1978 funk / disco song by American R&B band Chic. It was the band's third single and first ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and R&B number-one hit song. Along with the tracks " I Want Your Love" and "Chic Cheer", "Le Freak" scored number one on the disco charts for seven weeks. Chic ( ), currently called Nile Rodgers & Chic, is an American band that was formed in 1972 by guitarist Nile Rodgers and bassist Bernard Edwards. ''Woman in Me'' is the second studio album by English singer Louise, released by EMI in October 1997. The album was preceded by the release of the single " Arms Around the World", which peaked at number 4 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Louise's highest charting single at the time. This was quickly followed up by the single " Let's Go Round Again" (a cover of the 1980 hit by the Average White Band), which reached number 10. Alison Moira Clarkson (born 6 March 1970 in Kensington, London), better known as Betty Boo, is an English singer, songwriter and rapper. UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data.
