Elaine Cassidy (Australian Mayor)
Elaine Armgard Cassidy (15 March 1930 – 21 February 2014) was a socially prominent Australian teacher and municipal politician. She served as Mayor and Deputy Mayor in the Local government in Australia, local government area of the Municipality of Woollahra in Sydney. Cassidy compiled and edited a Australian Bicentenary, Bicentennial book on the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney), Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Birth and education Cassidy (née Hirstman) was born in Strathfield, New South Wales, and was the first of two children of Margot (née Ludwig) and Frank Hirstman. King George V Hospital
The King George V Memorial Hospital for Mothers and Babies is a former hospital, exclusively for mothers and babies, in Sydney, Australia. It is located on Missenden Road in Camperdown, directly opposite the main buildings of the much larger Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with which it was amalgamated on 14 November 2002. History King George V hospital, opened in 1941, was designed in the Inter-War International Art Moderne style by prominent Sydney architects Stephenson & Turner. Duplicate Bridge
Duplicate bridge is a variation of contract bridge where the same set of bridge deals (i.e. the distribution of the 52 cards among the four hands) are played by different competitors, and scoring is based on relative performance. In this way, every hand, whether strong or weak, is played in competition with others playing identical cards, and the element of skill is heightened while that of chance is reduced. The Royal Hospital for Women (RHW) is a specialist hospital for women and babies located in the suburb of Randwick in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The Royal Hospital for Women shares the Randwick Hospitals' Campus site with the Prince of Wales Hospital and the Sydney Children's Hospital, as well as the Prince of Wales Private Hospital. The Benevolent Society, founded by Edward Smith Hall in 1813, is Australia's first and oldest charity. The society is an independent, not-for-profit organization whose main goals include helping families, older Australians and people with disabilities.
