Celestino Gorostiza
Celestino Gorostiza Alcalá (born January 31, 1904 in Villahermosa – January 11, 1967 in Mexico City) was a Mexican theater and cine playwright, director and dramatist. Biography Gorostiza, son of Celestino Gorostiza and Elvira Alcalá de Gorostiza, was the older brother of José Gorostiza. He was co-founder of the '' Ulises'' theater (1927-1928) and of the ''Orientación'' theater (1932), both in Mexico City Gorostiza was married to Araceli Otero Mena, older sister of Clementina Otero. Araceli gave birth to their daughter Paloma Gorostiza Otero. He was a numbered member of the Academia Mexicana de la Lengua and a member of the Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas, as well as director of the department of theater at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes. María Elena Velasco
María Elena Velasco Fragoso (17 December 1940 – 1 May 2015) was a Mexican actress, comedian, singer-songwriter and dancer. She is best known for creating and portraying La India María, a comical character based on indigenous Mexican women. An ''hacienda'' ( or ; or ) is an estate (or ''finca''), similar to a Roman ''latifundium'', in Spain and the former Spanish Empire. With origins in Andalusia, ''haciendas'' were variously plantations (perhaps including animals or orchards), mines or factories, with many ''haciendas'' combining these activities. The word is derived from Spanish ''hacer'' (to make, from Latin ''facere'') and ''haciendo'' (making), referring to productive business enterprises. The term ''hacienda'' is imprecise, but usually refers to landed estates of significant size, while smaller holdings were termed ''estancias'' or ''ranchos''. It was produced by Jesús Grovas and directed by Juan Bustillo Oro, and also features Joaquín Pardavé, Sara García, Sofía Álvarez, and Dolores Camarillo. It was the twelfth film in Cantinflas's career, considered one of his best by Mexican film critics, as well as one of Mexico's best films. Gregorio López (writer)
Gregorio López Fuentes (born 25 November 1897? - ) was a Mexican novelist, poet, and journalist. He was one of the leading chroniclers of the Mexican Revolution. He came in contact with the Indians, farmers, and labourers of the region, whose lives he later described in his works. After unsuccessful efforts at poetry and novels, he began to draw upon his experiences in the Mexican Revolution. Later on, he became a teacher of literature at a school in Mexico City. In 1921 he began writing for the ''El Universal (Mexico City), El Universal'' often under the Tulio F. Peseenz pseudonym. His stories were seen as exciting, humorous, and symbolic of Mexico.
