Abdullah El Tayib
Abdullah El Tayib, also referred to as 'Abd Allāh al-Tayyib al-Majdhūb (2 June 1921 – 19 June 2003) was a prominent Sudanese writer and scholar of Sudanese literature and the Arabic language. He was born in Tamirab, a village near Ad-Damir, Ad-Dāmar in Sudan, during the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan, Anglo-Egyptian condominium and received his primary education in Kassala, Ad-Damar and Berber, Sudan, Berber. After graduating from Gordon Memorial College (now University of Khartoum), he continued his studies until his Doctor of Philosophy, PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, in 1950. El Tayib occupied leading academic and administrative positions at universities in Khartoum, Juba and Kano (city), Kano, Nigeria. He was also president of the Arab Language League of Sudan and a member of the Arabic Language Academy in Cairo, Egypt. Griselda El Tayib
Dorothy Griselda El Tayib (15 March 1925 – 20 May 2022) was a British-born visual artist and cultural anthropologist, who was mainly known for her pioneering research on the traditional costumes as they reflect the culture and society of Sudan since the 1970s. She published her research in 2017 in the illustrated book ''Regional Folk Costumes of the Sudan.'' Having lived in Sudan and other African countries for most of her life with her Sudanese husband, academic Abdullah El Tayib, she published ethnographic studies and watercolour paintings on such fields as visual arts of Sudan, folk literature, music, traditional costumes and women's education in Sudan and has been called "a Sudanese artist of British origin". Tarek Al Taib ( ar, طارق التائب; born 28 February 1977) is a Libyan football midfielder. Club career Al-Taib began his career in Libya with Al Ahli Tripoli. In his first year, he played 26 matches and scored 11 goals, coming third in the 1997–1998 Libyan Player of the Year award.
