El Salvador, officially the City of El Salvador ( ceb, Dakbayan sa El Salvador; fil, Lungsod ng El Salvador), is a 6th class Cities of the Philippines#Legal classification, component city in the Provinces of the Philippines, province of Misamis Oriental, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 58,771 people. The city serves as a pilgrimage site for Divine Mercy devotees, that is why it is also called the ''City of the Saviour'', ''City of Mercy'' and the ''Divine Mercy City of the Philippines''. Misamis Oriental ( ceb, Sidlakang Misamis; tl, Silangang Misamis), officially the Province of Misamis Oriental, is a province located in the region of Northern Mindanao in the Philippines.
