El Reino Olvidado (The Forgotten Kingdom) is the ninth studio album by the Argentine band Rata Blanca. The album was edited and released on August 21 of 2008 by PopArt Music. Two weeks after the release date the album obtained the gold album certification. An English-language version of the album was recorded with Doogie White (Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen) on the vocals. The English version was released on October 28 of 2009. The album (Spanish version) received a Latin Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Album, Duo or Group. Rata Blanca
Rata Blanca ("White Rat" in English) is an Argentine heavy metal band, formed in 1986. History Beginnings The guitarist Walter Giardino replaced Osvaldo Civile in V8 for a little time, and left the band when his songs were rejected. His friend Roberto Cosseddu, bassist of Kamikaze, helped him to record a demo tape with those songs. The drummer Gustavo Rowek, who had also left V8 a short time before, declined his projects with Civile and joined Giardino. The session musicians Rodolfo Cava (singer) and Yulie Ruth (bass player) completed the line-up that recorded the demo. The songs were "Chico callejero", "Rompe el hechizo", "Gente del sur" and "La bruja blanca". Seeking stable members, the band took Saúl Blanch as singer, who was working in the hard rock band Plus. Rainbow (English Band)
Rainbow (also known as Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow or Blackmore's Rainbow) are a British rock supergroup, formed in London and Los Angeles in 1975 by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. Established in the aftermath of Blackmore's first departure from Deep Purple, they originally featured four members of the band Elf, including their singer Ronnie James Dio, but after their self-titled debut album, Blackmore fired these members, except Dio, recruiting new members, including drummer Cozy Powell. The band recorded their second album '' Rising'' in 1976, while ''Long Live Rock 'n' Roll'' (1978) would be the last album with Dio before he left the band to join Black Sabbath in 1979. The Latin Grammy Award for Best Rock Album by a Duo or Group with Vocal was an honor presented annually by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. It was given at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and promotes a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and overseas. Yngwie Johan Malmsteen ( ; born Lars Johan Yngve Lannerbäck, 30 June 1963) is a Swedish guitarist. He first became known in the 1980s for his neoclassical playing style in heavy metal, and has released 22 studio albums in a career spanning over 40 years. Douglas "Doogie" White (born 7 March 1960) is a Scottish rock vocalist who currently sings for La Paz and Alcatrazz. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements.
