El M'Ghair
El M'Ghair ( ar, اﻟﻤﻐﻴﺮ), also called El Meghaïer or Mhraïer, is a town and commune, and capital of El M'Ghair District and El M'Ghair Province, Algeria. According to the 1998 census it has a population of 49,793, up from 40,228 in 1998, and is the second largest town in the province after Djamaa. Its annual population growth rate is 2.2%. Geography El M'Ghair lies southwest of Chott Felrhir, a large endorheic salt lake. Between the town and the lake there is an extensive palm plantation. Climate El M'Ghair has a hot desert climate (Köppen climate classification ''BWh''), with very hot summers and mild winters, and very little precipitation throughout the year. Transportation El M'Ghair has a station on the Biskra-Touggourt railway line, which passes by the east side of the city. Biskra ( ar, ولاية بسكرة) is a province (''wilaya'') of Algeria. The capital city is Biskra. Tolga is one of the famous ''daïras'' of this wilaya. Ouled Djellal
Ouled Djellal is a town and commune in Biskra Province, Algeria. According to the 1998 census it has a population of 45,622. more recent census says it has over 66,000 people. It is the second biggest city in the state of Biskra because of its population and economics. Laghouat
Laghouat ( ar, الأغواط; en, Laghwat) is the capital of the Laghouat Province, Algeria, south of the Algerian capital Algiers. Located in the Amour Range of the Saharan Atlas, the town is an oasis on the north edge of the Sahara Desert. It is an important administrative and military center and marketplace, and is known for rug and tapestry weaving. Laghouat traces its history to at least the 11th century. It was ruled by the Ottoman Turks in 1786 and annexed to Beylik of Titteri (Médéa). The town experienced the brutal Siege of Laghouat in 1852, and came under French colonial rule until 1962. Sidi Khellil
Sidi Khellil ( ar, ﺳﻴﺪي ﺧﻠﻴﻞ) is a town and commune in El M'Ghair District, El Oued Province, Algeria. According to the 2008 census it has a population of 6,547, up from 5,524 in 1998, and an annual growth rate of 1.7%. Geography Much of the surrounding land is a sandy desert. However, the area between the town (and the railway) and the N3 highway is occupied by an extensive palm plantation. The endorheic salt lake Chott Felrhir lies about to the northeast of the town. El Oued
El Oued ( ar, اﻟﻮادي, ber, Suf meaning ''the River''), Souf or Oued Souf is a city, and the capital of El Oued Province, in Algeria. The oasis town is watered by an underground river, hence its name is El Oued which enables date palm cultivation and the rare use (for the desert) of brick construction for housing. As most roofs are domed, it is known as the "City of a Thousand Domes". El Oued is located south east of Algiers (the capital city of Algeria), near the Tunisian border. Hamraia ( ar, حمراية) is a town and commune in Reguiba District, El Oued Province, Algeria. According to the 2008 census it has a population of 5,172, up from 3,938 in 1998, with an annual growth rate of 2.8%. Geography Hamraia is near Chott Melrhir, a large endorheic salt lake that lies to the north of the town. The lake and its surrounds, including the town of Hamraia, lie below sea level. Oum Touyour
Oum Touyour ( ar, أم اﻟﻄﻴﻮر) (also written Oum Tiour or Oum Thiour) is a town and commune in El M'Ghair District, El Oued Province, Algeria. According to the 2008 census it has a population of 11,069, up from 9,735 in 1998, with an annual growth rate of 1.3%, the lowest in the province. Climate Oum Touyour has a hot desert climate (Köppen climate classification ''BWh''), with very hot summers and mild winters, and very little precipitation throughout the year. Transportation The regional road W300 connects Oum Touyour to national highway N3, which connects to Biskra to the north and Touggourt to the south. It is also the main link to the Oum Touyour aerodrome. A short link called the N46A connects the N3 to Baadj just to the north, and from there the W31 leads northwest to Ouled Djellal.
