It is bordered by the Medit ...'s former minister of state for sports as part of the Qandil cabinet. Career Farouk is one of the board members of Al Ahly Club. He served as the secretary-general of the Association of Private Schools (APS) in Egypt. He was appointed minister of state for sports on 2 August 2012. He was one of the independent ministers serving in the cabinet. Shortly after his appointment, Farouk fired the Egyptian Football Association's executive committee members and appointed a new board to run the federation. Hesham Mohamed Qandil (also spelled: ''Hisham Kandil''; ar, هشام محمد قنديل ; born 17 September 1962) is an Egyptian engineer and civil servant who was Prime Minister of Egypt from 2012 to 2013. Qandil was appointed as Prime Minister by President Mohamed Morsi on 24 July 2012 and sworn in on 2 August 2012. Qandil previously served as Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation from 2011 to 2012. Reuters reported that Qandil was a politically independent senior public servant in the Morsi administration, but was not popularly considered to be a likely candidate for the position of prime minister. Amer Taher Abou Zeid Alsayed, publicly known as Taher Abou Zeid, or Taher Abouzaid ( both are correct translations from the original alphabet in ar, عامر طاهر أبو زيد السيد) is the Egyptian Minister of State for Sports and a retired footballer. He played as a midfielder for Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team. The cabinet of Egyptian Prime Minister Hesham Qandil was sworn in on 2 August 2012. Qandil was appointed by President Mohamed Morsi, following the resignation of military-named premier Kamal Ganzouri. The cabinet consists of 36 ministers. The Egyptian Football Association ( ar, الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم) is the governing body of football in Egypt. A member of FIFA since 1923 and a founding member of CAF, the EFA has jurisdiction for the Egyptian football league system and is in charge of the men's and women's national teams.
