Ekebyholm Castle
Ekebyholm is a castle-like mansion and a former manor located by Lake Syningen in Rimbo parish in Norrtälje Municipality in Stockholm county, Sweden. In 1932, the Adventist school purchased Ekebyholm. Presently Ekebyholmsskolan is located on site. History Ekebyholm in Rimbo (currently a part of Norrtälje) was attached with the estate of Mörby, owned by the Pomeranian-originated family of Slaveka. Bengt Gabrielson (Oxenstierna) af Mörby (d. 1591) acquired the estates of Mörby and Ekebyholm which were separated with Mörby passing to his elder son Gabriel Bengtsson Oxenstierna (1586–1656) and Ekebyholm passing to the youngest, posthumous son Bengt Bengtson Oxenstierna (1591–1643) who first had the manor built at Ekebyholm. Norrtälje Municipality
Norrtälje Municipality (''Norrtälje kommun'') is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Norrtälje. It is the largest and northernmost municipality of Stockholm County and was created in 1971 through the amalgamation of several former municipalities. There are 25 original local government units (as of 1863) combined in the present municipality. Many of the houses in Norrtälje municipality are summer cottages, only inhabited during summertime. This is due to its geographical location by the Stockholm archipelago, which makes it popular among Stockholmers and tourists. Gabriel Bengtsson Oxenstierna af Korsholm och Wasa, 1st Count of Korsholma and Vaasa, Finnish: ''Gabriel Pentinpoika Oxenstierna'', (18 March 1586 at Lindholmen Castle, Västergötland – 12 December 1656 at Edsberg Manor, Sollentuna) was a Swedish statesman, jurist and diplomat. Biography Oxenstierna was the son of Bengt Gabrielsson Oxenstierna the Elder, councillor to Duke Charles of Södermanland, Närke and Värmland (later King Charles IX), and his first wife Sigrid Gustafsdotter (Tre Rosor). He was orphaned at an early age. Like other contemporary members of the influential Oxenstierna family, he was educated abroad and entered the service of King Charles IX upon his return in 1606. Bengt Bengtsson Oxenstierna af Eka och Lindö, Baron of Eka and Lindö (1591 at Frösvik near Rydbo – 1643 in Riga, Swedish Livonia), in non-contemporary sources sometimes referred to as Resare-Bengt ''("Bengt the Traveller")'', was a Swedish diplomat and noble, Swedish Privy Councillor, and Governor-General of Ingria and Livonia. Arvid Horn
Count Arvid Bernhard Horn af Ekebyholm (6 April 166418 April 1742) was a Swedish general, diplomat and politician, a member of the noble Horn family. He served twice as President of the Privy Council Chancellery (1710–1719 and 1720–1738) and was one of the leading figures of the Swedish Age of Liberty. Soldier and diplomat Arvid Bernhard Horn was born at Vuorentaka Manor in Halikko (now Salo, Finland). He was the son of Gustaf Horn af Kanckas (1627–1673) and his wife Anna Helena von Gertten (1640–1709).
