Ek Do Teen (film)
''Ek Do Teen'' is a 1953 Hindi comedy film produced and directed by Roop K. Shorey. It stars Motilal, Meena Shorey, Yashodra Katju, Majnu and Iftekhar. The story, screenplay and dialogues were written by Krishan Chander. The story has some similarity to Somerset Maugham's ''Facts Of Life''. The music was composed by Vinod and the lyricist was Aziz Kashmiri. The film was a follow up to ''Ek Thi Ladki'' (1949), which was directed by Roop K. Shorey and starred his wife Meena Shorey with Motilal. Meena Shorey emerged as a fine comedian and was called the "Lara Lappa" girl from the song composed by Vinod and picturised on her in ''Ek Thi Ladki''. However, ''Ek Do Teen'' did not do as well and was a turning point in Shorey's career. "Ek do teen" (one two three) is the number of caveats passed on by Motilal's father to him before the father dies. Krishan Chander
Krishan Chander (23 November 1914 – 8 March 1977) was an Indian Urdu and Hindi writer of short stories and novels. Some of his works have also been translated in English. He was a prolific writer, penning over 20 novels, 30 collections of short stories and scores of radio plays in Urdu, and later, after Partition of India, partition in 1947, took to writing in Hindi as well. He also wrote screen-plays for Bollywood movies to supplement his meagre income as an author of satirical stories. Krishan Chander's novels (including the classic: ''Ek Gadhe Ki Sarguzasht'', 'Autobiography of a Donkey') have been translated into over 16 Indian languages and some foreign languages, including English. Mohammed Rafi
Mohammed Rafi (24 December 1924 – 31 July 1980) was an Indian playback singer and musician. He is considered to have been one of the greatest and most influential singers of the Indian subcontinent. Rafi was notable for his versatility and range of voice; his songs varied from fast peppy numbers to patriotic songs, sad numbers to highly romantic songs, qawwalis to ghazals and bhajans to classical songs. Geeta Dutt (born Geeta Ghosh Roy Chowdhuri; 23 November 1930 – 20 July 1972) was an Indian playback singer and a famous Hindi and Bengali classical artist, born in Faridpur before the Partition of India. Geetashree Sandhya Mukherjee (also spelled Mukhopadhyay; 4 October 1931 – 15 February 2022) was an Indian playback singer and musician, specialising in Bengali music. Motilal Rajvansh (4 December 1910 – 17 June 1965) was an Indian actor and the winner of Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for ''Devdas (1955 film), Devdas'' (1955) and ''Parakh (1960 film), Parakh'' (1960). He is credited with being among Hindi cinema's first natural actors. He also directed the film ''Chhoti Chhoti Baten'' (1965), but died before its release. ''Ek Thi Larki'' (Hindi: एक थी लड़की, There Was A Girl) is a 1949 Hindi action comedy film by director Roop K. Shorey. It had the famous Punjabi song "Laara Lappa Laara Lappa Layi Rakhda" by Lata Mangeshkar, G. M. Durrani and Mohammad Rafi. The music director was Vinod, with lyrics by Aziz Kashmiri and story by I. S. Iftekhar
Sayedna Iftekhar Ahmed Sharif (22 February 1924 – 4 March 1995), often mononymously credited as Iftekhar, was an Indian actor who mainly worked in Hindi cinema. He is known for his role as a police officer. Career Iftekhar was born in Jalandhar and was the eldest among four brothers and a sister. After completing his matriculation, Iftekhar did a diploma course in painting from Lucknow College Of Arts. Iftekhar had a passion for singing and was impressed with the famous singer Kundanlal Sehgal. In his 20s, Iftekhar travelled to Calcutta for an audition conducted by the music composer Kamal Dasgupta, who was then serving for HMV.
