''Ek Din 24 Ghante'' (Hindi:एक दिन चौबीस घंटे; English: "One Day 24 Hours") is a 2003 Bollywood thriller film directed and written by Anant Balani and starring Rahul Bose and Nandita Das. The film premiered on 7 November 2003. Director Anant Balani died before the film was released on 29 August 2003. The film is an unauthorised adaptation of the 1998 German film ''Run Lola Run''. Plot The film revolves around a father-girl-guy relationship. Sameera Dutta (Nandita Das) is the wild daughter who comes into conflict with her father when she meets Virendra "Viren" ( Rahul Bose). Sameera believes she has found true love, but it happens that Viren has a serious gambling problem and owes Rs. 2 million to a casino owner, Patel (Vineet Kumar). Viren seeks Sameera's help and in desperation and out of resentment for her father she threatens to reveal to her mother that he has a mistress who is pregnant with his child. Anant Balani
Anant Balani (1962 – 29 August 2003) was a Bollywood film director and screenwriter. He directed films such as ''Patthar Ke Phool'' in 1991 which starred Salman Khan and Raveena Tandon in lead roles. He also wrote the script for ''Insaaf: The Justice'', released in 2004. He died of a heart attack on 29 August 2003 in Mumbai. 2003 had been a strenuous year for him and he had finished three films and was working on a fourth at his time of death. Three of the films that he had directed, namely, ''Joggers' Park'', ''Mumbai Matinee'' and ''Ek Din 24 Ghante'' were released after his death.
