Eizō Katō
was a Japanese painter in the nihonga style. He and his younger brother, Tōichi Katō, have a museum dedicated to their works in Gifu, Gifu Prefecture. Biography He was born in 1906 Gifu's Mizono-chō as the third son of a lacquerware merchant. His early education took place at local schools when he graduated from Gifu Commercial High School in 1923. In 1926, he entered into the Tokyo Fine Arts School in Nihonga Studies, where he would spend the next five years studying art and entering competitions. It was in 1929 that he first submitted a work to the Japan Art Academy’s 10th annual event, entering a piece entitled “Small Scenes of a Summer Day” (夏日小景 ''Natsubi Shōkei''). In 1931, he graduated from the Tokyo Fine Arts School in Nihonga Studies. Eizo Kenmotsu
is a former Japanese artistic gymnast, who won seven world titles and three Olympic gold medals between 1968 and 1979. In retirement, he became a leading Japanese coach. He also served as sports director of the Nippon Sport Science University and vice president of the Japan Gymnastics Association. Eizo Sakamoto
is a Japanese musician, singer and songwriter who was born in Nishinomiya, Hyōgo Prefecture. He is most famous for being the lead vocalist of heavy metal band Anthem. In the 1990s he started up the band Animetal which performed heavy metal covers of anime and tokusatsu opening and closing themes. He also was involved with the Anison band JAM Project before reuniting with Anthem. Sakamoto then began a new project called ''Eizo Japan'' which is similar to Animetal: more heavy metal covers of theme songs post-disbanding, along with original material. Eizō Sugawa
was a Japanese filmmaker. Career Sugawa was born in Osaka to a family that owned an asbestos manufacturing business. He graduated from the economics department of Tokyo University in 1953, and subsequently joined Toho studios. He was inspired to enter the film industry after watching foreign films, which were imported into Japan in huge amounts following World War II. While working as an assistant director, he wrote a script titled ''Kiken na Eiyūtachi'' that was published in screenplay magazine Independent. Toho producer Masakatsu Kaneko was impressed with the script, which depicted an ambitious reporter involved in a kidnapping incident with a touch reminiscent of American films, and used it as the basis for ''Kiken na Eiyū'' (1957), directed by Hideo Suzuki and starring Shintarō Ishihara. Eizō Tanaka
was an early Japanese film director, screenwriter, and actor. Life and career Tanaka initially trained as a stage actor in the shingeki movement under Kaoru Osanai, but eventually joined the Nikkatsu film studio in 1917. He debuted as a director in 1918 but mostly had to work with shinpa stories, not the ''shingeki'' techniques he was used to although two early films, ''The Living Corpse'' (''Ikeru shikabane'') and ''The Cherry Orchard'' (''Sakura no sono'') were based on Tolstoy and Chekhov respectively. Working in parallel with the Pure Film Movement, Tanaka made two films, '' Kyōya eirimise'' (1922) and '' Dokuro no mai'' (1923), based on his own screenplays, that were highly praised for their cinematic technique. Eizo Yamada
was a major general in the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. Biography Yamada was born in Tokyo. He graduated from the Imperial Japanese Army Academy in 1911, and served as a lieutenant in the IJA 15th Engineering Battalion. He became an instructor at the Army Institute of Technology in 1925 and was promoted to major in 1928 and lieutenant colonel in 1933, and colonel in 1938. In 1939, he became commander of the Imperial Guards Engineering Battalion. Yamada was promoted to major general in October 1941 and assigned as Chief of the Ordnance Section, Eastern Army. On February 23, 1943 Yamada became the commanding officer of the 1st Naval Transport Command. He played a major role in the Battle of Finschhafen in New Guinea between September 22 and October 24, 1943. was a former Japanese football player. He played for Japan national team. Club career Yuguchi was born in Osaka on July 4, 1945. After graduating from Kansai University, he joined his local club Yanmar Diesel in 1968. The club won the league champions in 1971. The club also won 1968 and 1970 Emperor's Cup. He retired in 1972.
