Alexey Eisner
Alexey Eisner ( rus, Алексе́й Влади́мирович Э́йснер, p=ɐlʲɪkˈsʲej vlɐˈdʲimʲɪrəvʲɪtɕ ˈejsʲnʲɪr, a=Alyeksyey Vladimirovich Eysnyer.ru.vorb.oga; 5 October 1905, in St. Petersburg – 30 November 1984, in Moscow), was a Soviet poet, translator and writer. Biography After the October Revolution of 1917, his stepfather brought the young Eisner to the Princes' Islands. Thus began a life in exile. Eisner graduated from the Grand Duke Constantine Constantinovich Russian Cadets Corps in Sarajevo. He remained in Europe where he made a living washing windows and working at construction sites. He started writing poetry and met with many famous Russian émigrés such as Georgy Adamovich, Marina Tsvetaeva and her husband Sergei Efron. His poem "Looming Autumn, Yellow Bushes ..." was published in 1932 and became a textbook and was very popular in literary émigré circles. Shiri Eisner is a genderqueer bisexual writer and activist based in Tel Aviv. Eisner works towards deconstructing stereotypes attached to bisexuality arguing that their subversive power should be utilized rather than rejected by bisexual movements. In their book, ''Bi: Notes for a Bisexual Revolution,'' Eisner writes about monosexual privilege, the harms it can cause in society, and the intersection of transgender people and bisexuality. Philip Eisner is an American screenwriter best known for writing the screenplay for the 1997 science fiction/horror film ''Event Horizon'', which was produced by Paramount and helmed by director Paul W. S. Anderson. Screenplays In addition to writing the film ''Event Horizon'' (1997), Eisner also wrote '' Firestarter: Rekindled'' for Sci Fi (now known as Syfy) which was produced in 2002. In early 2005, Scott Rudin Productions acquired Eisner's supernatural thriller spec script ''Furious Angels''. Eisner also wrote the screenplay for '' The Mutant Chronicles'', which was released in 2009 and stars Thomas Jane and John Malkovich. Pavel Eisner (16 January 1889 – 8 July 1958), also known as Paul Eisner and under the pseudonym Vincy Schwarze, was Czech-German linguist and translator and the author of many studies about Czech language. He is considered one of the most important Czech translators of all time and was said to be proficient in 12 languages - English, French, Icelandic, Italian, Hungarian, German, Norwegian, Persian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, and Tibetan. He produced some of the earliest Czech language translations of Franz Kafka's work. Biography Eisner came from a Jewish family in Prague. He was bilingual from his childhood. Life Eisner was born on December 15, 1885 in New York City, New York, the son of David L. Eisner and Sophia Silverman. Eisner attended New York City public schools and graduated from the College of the City of New York with a B.A. cum laude in 1905. He then taught in public schools while attending New York University School of Law, graduating from there in 1907.
