Ehren Wassermann
Ehren Josef Wassermann (born December 6, 1980) is a former professional baseball player and coach. He currently serves as the head coach for John Carroll Catholic High School. A right-handed sidearm pitcher, Wassermann made his Major League Baseball debut with the Chicago White Sox on July 20, , against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, retiring both batters faced. Amateur career Wassermann attended Jefferson Davis Community College before transferring to Samford University, majoring in sports medicine, in Homewood, Alabama. The Birmingham Barons are a Minor League Baseball team based in Birmingham, Alabama. The Bristol Pirates were a Minor League Baseball team in Bristol, Virginia, United States. They were a Rookie-level team in the Appalachian League. In baseball, a save (abbreviated SV or S) is credited to a pitcher who finishes a game for the winning team under certain prescribed circumstances. Most commonly a pitcher earns a save by entering in the ninth inning of a game in which his team is winning by three or fewer runs and finishing the game by pitching one inning without losing the lead. The number of saves or percentage of save opportunities successfully converted are oft-cited statistics of relief pitchers, particularly those in the closer role. In baseball statistics, earned run average (ERA) is the average of earned runs allowed by a pitcher per nine innings pitched (i.e. the traditional length of a game). The Samford Bulldogs are the 17 varsity teams (8 men's and 9 women's) that represent Samford University in NCAA Division I athletics. The men's basketball team made its first NCAA Tournament appearances in 1999 and 2000.They were led by Reed Rawlings, Marc Salyers, and Chris Weaver.
