The Egyptian Super Cup is Egyptian football's annual match contested between the champions of the previous Egyptian Premier League season and the holders of the Egypt Cup. If the Egyptian Premier League champions also won the Egypt Cup then the cup runners-up provide the opposition. The competition was founded in 2001. Olympic El Qanah FC
El Qanah Football Club ( ar, نادي القناة لكرة القدم), also known as Suez Canal, is an Egyptian football club based in Ismailia, Egypt. The club is currently playing in the Egyptian Second Division, the second-highest league in the Egyptian football league system. History The club was founded in 1935 as a group of Ismailia born contractors formed a football team calling it "Badran Club", that team included Ismail Abougrisha, Mohamed Abougrisha, Sayed Hamed, Darwish Othman and Ibrahim Al-Samalouty which took part in the Canal Region league with the likes of Ismaily, Masry Port Said, The Greek club, Port Fouad. In 1948 the club members succeeded to convince the board of the Suez Canal company to merge the Badran club with the company to form "El Qanah" with the Frenchman Paul Blan as a president to take part in the league. 1943 Egypt Cup Final
The 1943 Egypt Cup Final was the planned final match of the 1942–43 King Farouk Cup, scheduled to take place between King Farouk Club (later changed to Zamalek SC) and Al Ahly SC. The match was canceled due to the suspension of players from both clubs after they toured in Palestine against the Egyptian Football Association decision. The suspension was lifted on 19 April 1944, allowing the start of the 1943–44 Egypt Cup competition. This resulted in the 1943 title being shared between the two clubs, for the first and only time in the competition's history.
