Egyptian Hip Hop (band)
Egyptian Hip Hop were an English indie rock band formed in Greater Manchester in 2008. Their debut EP, "Some Reptiles Grew Wings", was released 20 September 2010 through the Hit Club record label. Their debut album "Good Dont Sleep" was released in the UK on 22 October 2012 through R&S Records. Biography Egyptian Hip Hop formed in winter 2008 by friends Alex Hewett (lead vocals, guitar and keyboards) and Louis Stevenson-Miller (guitar, bass, keyboards and backing vocals). They recruited school friends Alex Pierce (drums, backing vocals) and Nick Delap (guitar and bass), who had previously played in a band with Hewett under the name Copycats. The band began rehearsing at Manchester's Sunshine Studios and playing small gigs in the city's cafes and bars. They later embarked on their first real UK tour with Hit Club label mates Is Tropical. Moshi Moshi Records is a small London-based record label founded in 1998 by Adrian Pike, Michael McClatchey and Stephen Bass. The label has released music by bands including Lykke Li, Fimber Bravo, Bloc Party, Hot Chip, Late of the Pier, Hot Club De Paris, Kate Nash, Florence and the Machine, Architecture in Helsinki, the Wave Pictures, Disclosure, Sweet Baboo, Tilly and the Wall, Blue Foundation, Slow Club, Happyness, and Au Revoir Simone. Reading And Leeds Festival
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in England. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Festival is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near Caversham Bridge. The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, the grounds of a historic house. Headliners and most supporting acts typically play at both sites, with Reading's Friday line up becoming Leeds' Saturday line-up, Reading's Saturday line-up playing at Leeds on Sunday, and Leeds' Friday line-up attending Reading on Sunday.
