Egoli Magic is a South African basketball club based in Johannesburg. The team was established in 1994 and currently plays in the Basketball National League. The team is the most successful ever in the BNL, as it has won a record five championships, in 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2021. Basketball National League
The Basketball National League (BNL) is the pre-eminent male and female semi-professional basketball league in South Africa. Since its inception in 1993 the league has been exclusively played by male club teams, in 2021 the women's division officially launched. The 11 teams of thWBNLare the female teams of the current participating clubs. History Founded in 1993 as the Premier Basketball League, it was disbanded in 1996. The league was renamed the Basketball National League in 2013. The BNL Season of 2018 started in August, the 3rd and ended on October, the 27th. Gauteng ( ) is one of the nine provinces of South Africa. The name in Sotho-Tswana languages means 'place of gold'. Miguel Ferrão
Miguel Pedro Ho Ferrão (born 16 January 1996) is a South African-Portuguese basketball player for the Western Cape Mountaineers. In international competitions, Ferrão represents South Africa, although he competed for Portugal in the youth ranks. College career Ferrão attended University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, and helped the Witwatersrand basketball team win the USSA national championship twice (in 2016 and 2018). Professional career Ferrão played the first years of his career with the Egoli Magic of the Basketball National League (BNL). In the final of the 2020–21 season, he had 25 points and 21 rebounds and was named the league's MVP. Since 2021, he is on the roster of the Cape Town Tigers.
