Arne Eggen
Arne Eggen (28 August 1881 in Trondheim, Norway – 26 October 1955 in Bærum, Norway) was a Norwegian composer and organist, married in 1916 to Engel Johanne Othilie Sparre Gulbranson (1878–1918), the brother of musicologist and composer (1877–1957), and brother-in-law to the opera singer Ellen Gulbranson (1863–1947). Biography Eggen studied at the Conservatory of Music in Oslo with Catharinus Elling (1858–1942), Peter Brynie Lindeman (1858–1930), and graduated as organist in 1905. He also studied at the Leipzig Conservatory (1906–1907) with Stephan Krehl and Karl Straube (1873–1950). He worked as organist in Bragernes Church (1908–1924), Drammen Church (1908–1924), Bryn Church (1924–1955) and Tanum Church, Bærum. He was chairman of the Norwegian Society of Composers (1927–1945), Honorary Chairman 1945 in TONO 1928–1930. Arnljot Eggen
Arnljot Eggen (13 August 1923 – 4 February 2009) was a Norwegian journalist, teacher and poet who also wrote plays and children's books. Personal life Eggen was born at Tolga in Hedmark, Norway. He was the son of Eystein Eggen (1886–1973) and Emma Kvernmo (1890–1979). He was raised in the mountain village of Ålen where his father was a tradesman. He took examen artium in 1944. Further schooling was interrupted during the Occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany. In 1949 he married nurse Esther Louise Eriksen. He died in Oslo in 2009. Career Eggen had plans to become a journalist and held a temporary position with'' Østerdølen'' and ''Fjell-Ljom''. From 1950 he worked as a teacher in primary school, including at Vinstra and in Vardal later at Bærum. From 1960 until 1965, he was employed at the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History in Bygdøy. Dan Eggen
Dan Eggen (born 13 January 1970) is a Norwegian football manager and former player. He has previously coached KFUM Oslo and Kolbotn in the Norwegian Premier League for women. He was capped 25 times for Norway, scoring two goals. Career Dan Eggen played as centre-back. He started his career in the Norwegian amateur leagues with sides such as Lyn, ''Årvoll'' and Ready. David Manson Eggen (born 1962) is a Canadians, Canadian politician. He is a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, in 2019 he was elected as the member representing Edmonton North West. He previously served three terms as the member representing Edmonton Calder from 2004-2008 and then again from 2012-2019. In 2014, Eggen ran in the 2014 Alberta New Democratic Party leadership election, NDP leadership election, where he placed second. He served as the Minister of Education and Minister of Culture and Tourism in Premier Notley's NDP government from 2015-2019. Eystein Eggen
Eystein Eggen (5 January 1944 in Oslo – 19 November 2010) was a Norwegian writer. Eggen was from a family with several other contemporary Norwegian writers. Eggen made his debut with a book about the life and death of general Carl Gustav Fleischer, the Norwegian commander in chief at Narvik 1940. He also wrote a portrait of the writer Agnar Mykle, his father-in-law. Eggen wrote novels with topics from medieval Norway. In 1993 Eggen published ''The boy from Gimle''—the autobiographical story of a Norwegian childhood in a Nazi milieu. As a consequence, two years later the Norwegian war children got an official excuse. Eggen became a State Scholar in 2003. Gjermund Eggen
Gjermund Eggen (5 June 1941 – 6 May 2019) was a Norwegian cross-country skier who won three gold medals at the 1966 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. The championships were held in Oslo in conjunction with the Holmenkollen ski festival, and so Eggen's medals also counted as Holmenkollen victories. He was awarded the Holmenkollen medal in 1968 (shared with King Olav V, Assar Rönnlund, and Bjørn Wirkola). He competed at the 1968 Winter Olympics in the 30 km event, but finished only 34th. Nils Arne Eggen (17 September 1941 – 19 January 2022) was a Norwegian footballer, manager and teacher from Orkdal. Eggen was closely tied to Rosenborg, the club he managed for 23 years between 1970 and 2010. He is Norway's most successful club manager throughout history, having won the Norwegian top division fifteen times and the Norwegian Football Cup six times as a manager. Eggen's tactical emphasis was on playing 4-3-3 and attacking football and his way of playing football has frequently been cited as an inspiration among players, coaches and clubs alike, both domestically and abroad.
