Effi Birnbaum
Efraim "Effi" Birnbaum (אפרים "אפי" בירנבאום; born 11 June 1954), is an Israeli professional basketball coach. Coaching career He was the Israeli Super League's Coach of the Year, in 2005. Birnbaum was the head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv Maccabi Tel Aviv ( he, מכבי תל אביב) is one of the largest sports clubs in Israel, and a part of the Maccabi association. Maccabi Rishon LeZion ( he, מכבי ראשון לציון) is a basketball club based in Rishon LeZion, Israel. The club plays in the Liga Leumit, the second tier of Israeli basketball. Bnei Herzliya Basket (, lit. ''Sons of Herzliya''), is a professional basketball club that is based in Herzliya, in the Sharon district in Israel. The Israel men's national basketball team ( he, נבחרת ישראל בכדורסל) represents Israel in international basketball tournaments. They are administered by the Israeli Basketball Association. Israel is currently ranked 33rd in the FIBA World Rankings. Israel has qualified for the EuroBasket 30 times throughout their history. They have also made two appearances at the World Cup, and one at the Summer Olympics. Israel also participated at the Asian Games from 1966 to 1974.
