Eerie Materials
Eerie Materials was an independent record label started in the early 1990s, first based in Richmond, Virginia, and later in San Francisco, California. History Before the label began, in the late 1980s, brother and sister Troy Fiscella and Tristana Fiscella, along with their friends Mark, Frances, and Scott H., formed the band Eeyore Power Tool (which went by various names depending on the release, examples are "Eeyore Fiend Magnet", "Eeyore Prayer Tool", and "Eeyore Crypt Orchid", among many others). They became an important influence in the cassette culture of the time, and formed several other interesting musical projects, including Cave Clown Microwave (which included contributions from the people of Wheelchair Full of Old Men, Thought Balloon Tapes, Nauscopy, and many others); and Kingdom Scum, who later had LPs and CDs not only on Eerie Materials but on Staalplaat and Turn of the Century as well. Gregg Turkington (born November 25, 1967) is an Australian-born American entertainer, actor, musician and writer. He is known for his performances as Neil Hamburger, a stand-up comedian persona he developed in the 1990s. Alongside Tim Heidecker, Turkington also stars as a fictionalized version of himself on the comedic web series ''On Cinema'' (2011–). In addition, he formed one-half of the band Zip Code Rapists and has collaborated on numerous projects with musicians including Trey Spruance (Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3). In the 1990s, Turkington ran an independent label, Amarillo Records, which distributed his original albums and albums of other artists from the San Francisco punk scene. In 2015, he starred as a variant of the Neil Hamburger character for the feature-length drama film ''Entertainment'', directed by Rick Alverson, and subsequently gave his first interviews as himself instead of an assumed persona. Nudibranchs () are a group of soft-bodied marine gastropod molluscs which shed their shells after their larval stage. They are noted for their often extraordinary colours and striking forms, and they have been given colourful nicknames to match, such as "clown", "marigold", "splendid", "dancer", "dragon", or "sea rabbit". Friendly (Andrew Kornweibel) is a breaks' producer and DJ. Originally from Australia he is now based in London. Eeyore ( ) is a fictional character in the ''Winnie-the-Pooh'' book series, books by A. A. Milne. He is generally characterized as a pessimism, pessimistic, melancholia, gloomy, depression (mood), depressed, anhedonia, anhedonic, old grey Stuffed animal, stuffed donkey who is a friend of the title character, Winnie-the-Pooh. Anachronauts (band)
Anachronauts was an American surf rock band, founded by Scott Burright (guitar, lead vocals) and Stacey Hathaway (bassist, vocals) in 1992 in New Orleans, Louisiana. They moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1995, where they were joined by Steve Forte (lead guitar, mandolin). The style of Anachronauts was primarily "technofolk" with surf guitar, but blended heavy influence from classic science fiction genre and new wave musical groups such as Devo and Talking Heads. The band claimed to be "not of hard rock, but of hard science." They have been described as "Devo with really good Baptist church choir soloist" and "like the B-52's, only quirkier. Hathaway described the Anachronauts as "the bastard child of Devo and Peter, Paul, and Mary." "Anachronauts are nothing if not confusing. Their slogan is 'Remember the future. Welcome to the present. AC/DC (stylised as ACϟDC) are an Australian Rock music, rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by Scottish-born brothers Malcolm Young, Malcolm and Angus Young. Their music has been variously described as hard rock, blues rock, and Heavy metal music, heavy metal, but the band calls it simply "rock and roll".
