Edward Pasewicz
Edward Pasewicz (born 9 June 1971) is a Polish writer, poet and composer. Laureate of VIII edition of Ogólnopolski Konkurs Poetycki im. Jacka Bierezina (2000). In 2007, he was nominated to Gdynia Literary Prize Gdynia Literary Prize ( pl, Nagroda Literacka Gdynia) is a Polish literary prize, which is awarded annually to authors of the best books published in the previous year in the prose, poetry, essay and (since 2014) translation categories. It wa ... for a book ''Henry Berryman Pięśni''. His poems were translated into several languages: German, English, Czech, Bulgarian, Slovenian, Serbian, Italian, Spanish, Catalan, Ukrainian and Russian. In 2011 he was granted a scholarship from Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (Poland). In 2022, he was awarded the Angelus Award for his novel ''Pulverkopf''. Kostrzyn Nad Odrą
Kostrzyn nad Odrą (literally Kostrzyn upon Oder) (; german: Küstrin ) is a town in Gorzów County, Lubusz Voivodeship in western Poland, close to the border with Germany. Geography The town is situated within the historic Lubusz Land (''Ziemia Lubuska'') region at the confluence of the Oder and Warta rivers, on the western rim of the extended Warta mires. The town centre is located about south of Szczecin. Until the end of World War II and the implementation of the Oder–Neisse line in 1945, the municipal area also comprised the Küstrin-Kietz suburb on the west bank of the Oder river, which today is part of the German Küstriner Vorland municipality. The former town centre, the Küstrin fortress located on the headland between the Oder and Warta rivers, was destroyed by the Red Army as an act of revenge weeks before the end of WW2 and not rebuilt. Gdynia Literary Prize
Gdynia Literary Prize ( pl, Nagroda Literacka Gdynia) is a Polish literary prize, which is awarded annually to authors of the best books published in the previous year in the prose, poetry, essay and (since 2014) translation categories. It was established in 2006 by Wojciech Szczurek, mayor of Gdynia, who stated that "The idea of Gdynia Literary Prize is to honour unique achievements of contemporary Polish authors which shall determine a strong and also permanent impulse to further intensify activities in literature and art in its broad meaning". The list of nominees is announced in May during the International Book Fair (Międzynarowe Targi Książki) in Warsaw. The prizes which consist of the "Literature Cube" statuette and 50.000 PLN are presented at the Grand Gala in June in Gdynia. Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland ( pl, Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego) is a governmental administration office concerned with various aspects of Polish culture. It was formed on 31 October 2005, from transformation of ''Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Poland''. The ministry can trace its history back to 1918 when the Ministry of Art and Culture was established. It was suppressed in 1922 due to rationalization of public expense and structural reform of the government. It was reestablished within the temporary communist government in 1944 and has existed continuously henceforth until the merger with the Ministry of Sport in 2021. The Angelus Central European Literature Award also known as Angelus Award (Polish: ''Nagroda Literacka Europy Środkowej Angelus'') is a Polish international literary award established in 2006 and presented by the city of Wrocław, Lower Silesia. The award is given annually for best prose books written in or translated into the Polish language by a living author originating from Central Europe whose works "undertake themes most relevant to the present day, encourage reflection and deepen the knowledge of the world of other cultures." The winners of the award receive a cash prize amounting to PLN 150,000 (€35,000) and a statuette designed by sculptor Ewa Rossano. Ole Nydahl
Ole Nydahl (born 19 March 1941), also known as Lama Ole, is a ''lama'' providing Mahamudra teachings in the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. Since the early 1970s, Nydahl has toured the world giving lectures and meditation courses. With his wife, Hannah Nydahl (1946-2007), he founded Diamond Way Buddhism, a worldwide Karma Kagyu Buddhist organization with over 600 centers for lay practitioners. Nydahl is the author of more than twenty books (in German and English) about Diamond Way Vajrayana, Vajrayana Buddhism, with translations into multiple languages.
