Edward King, 1st Earl Of Kingston
Edward King, 1st Earl of Kingston PC (I) (29 March 1726 – 8 November 1797) was an Anglo-Irish politician and peer. He was the eldest son of Sir Henry King, 3rd Baronet and Isabella Wingfield, daughter of Edward Wingfield. He had a twin sister Frances, who married Hans Widman Wood of Rosmead, County Westmeath and had issue, including Isabella. He sat in the Irish House of Commons as the Member of Parliament for Boyle between 1749 and 1760, before sitting for County Sligo from 1761 to 1764. On 22 May 1755 he succeeded to the family baronetcy following the premature death of his elder brother, Robert King, 1st Baron Kingsborough. On 15 July 1764 he was elevated to the Peerage of Ireland as Baron Kingston and assumed his seat in the Irish House of Lords. He was further honoured when he was made Viscount Kingston on 15 November 1766 and Earl Kingston on 25 August 1768, both also Irish peerages.E. M. Privy Council Of Ireland
His or Her Majesty's Privy Council in Ireland, commonly called the Privy Council of Ireland, Irish Privy Council, or in earlier centuries the Irish Council, was the institution within the Dublin Castle administration which exercised formal executive power in conjunction with the chief governor of Ireland, who was viceroy of the British monarch. The council evolved in the Lordship of Ireland on the model of the Privy Council of England; as the English council advised the king in person, so the Irish council advised the viceroy, who in medieval times was a powerful Lord Deputy. In the early modern period the council gained more influence at the expense of the viceroy, but in the 18th century lost influence to the Parliament of Ireland. Kilronan Castle
Kilronan Castle, previously known as Castle Tenison, is a large country house standing in of parkland on the shore of Lough Meelagh in County Roscommon, Republic of Ireland, from the village of Ballyfarnon. The house, originally constructed c.1820, was considerably expanded in the 1880s to form the current building. The newer part is a two storey, irregular building with a large baronial tower adjacent to the older building. It now functions as a spa hotel. History Towards the end of the 18th century the property later known as Castle Tenison, together with its surrounding estate, belonged to the Dundas family. They sold it in 1715 to Richard Tenison, of the English Tenison family, who was the son of the Bishop of Meath and MP for Dunleer. William FitzGerald, 2nd Duke Of Leinster
William Robert FitzGerald, 2nd Duke of Leinster, KP, PC (Ire) (12/13 March 1749 – 20 October 1804) was an Irish liberal politician and landowner. He was born in London. Career FitzGerald made his Grand Tour between 1768 and 1769. During the same time, he also was Member of Parliament (MP) for Kildare Borough. FitzGerald then sat in the Irish House of Commons for Dublin City until 1773, when he inherited his father's title and estates. He was appointed High Sheriff of Kildare for 1772. Politically he was a liberal supporter of Henry Grattan's Irish Patriot Party and he co-founded the Irish Whig Club in 1789. He controlled about six Kildare members of the Irish House of Commons. Ford Lambart, 5th Earl of Cavan (1718–1772) was an Irish peer and freemason. He was born in 1718 in Maryborough, son of the 4th Earl and Margaret Trant. Thomas Nugent, 6th Earl of Westmeath KP PC (Ire) (April 1714 – 7 September 1792), styled Lord Delvin from 1752 to 1754 was an Irish peer and freemason. He gained the title Earl of Westmeath in 1754 on the death of his father John Nugent, 5th Earl of Westmeath. His mother was Marguerite Jeanne Molza of Modena, daughter of Count Carlo Molza, who was Gentleman Usher to Queen Mary of Modena, and his wife Veronique Angelotti. His father was a professional soldier who spent most of his adult life on the Continent and died at Nivelles. In 1758, he was sworn of the Privy Council of Ireland. Charles Moore, 1st Earl Of Charleville
Charles Moore, 1st Earl of Charleville PC (24 January 1712 – 17 February 1764), known as The Lord Moore between 1725 and 1758, was an Irish peer and freemason. Moore was the son of John Moore, 1st Baron Moore, and Mary Lum, daughter of Elnathan Lum. He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, and succeeded his father in the barony in 1725. He was sworn of the Irish Privy Council in 1746 and created Earl of Charleville, in the King's County, in the Irish peerage in 1758. From 1761 to 1764 he was Governor and Custos Rotulorum of King's County. Lord Charleville married Hester Coghill, daughter of James Coghill, in 1737. The marriage was childless. Owen Wynne (1723–1789)
Owen Wynne (1723 – 18 March 1789) was an Irish Member of Parliament. He sat in the House of Commons of Ireland from 1749 to 1789. He was an MP for County Sligo from 1749 to 1778, and for Sligo Borough from 1776 until 1789. Wynne was a prominent landowner in Co. Leitrim and Co. Sligo. His main residence was Hazelwood House, Co. Sligo. However, he spent a good deal of time in Dublin due to his parliamentary responsibilities and had a house on Henrietta Street. His great uncle Owen Wynne (1665–1737) was a prominent soldier and politician and had purchased the estates in Co. Sligo to add to the family's existing estates in Co. Leitrim. Benjamin Burton (MP)
Major-General Benjamin Burton (10 March 1855 – 6 August 1921) was a British Army officer. Military career Burton was commissioned into the Royal Artillery on 9 March 1875. He saw action in South Africa during the Second Boer War for which he was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath. He went on to become Commander, Royal Artillery for 1st Division in September 1907 and General Officer Commanding the Northumbrian Division in the UK in March 1912. He handed over command of his division and retired just before the division was deployed to France in April 1915.
