Edward F. Kileen
Edward F. Kileen (January 12, 1869 – April 14, 1944) was a lawyer and teacher. He was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate. Biography Kileen was born on January 12, 1869, in Aurora, Waushara County, Wisconsin, to Michael Kileen and Hannah Navin. He grew up in Aurora and went to High School In Berlin, Wisconsin. He graduated in 1890. He then became a teacher and taught for a few years. He went off to attend Law school at the University of Wisconsin of which he graduated in 1894. The same year he graduated Law school; he ran for District Attorney of Wautoma and won. In 1899 he married Anna Guinan with whom he had four children. He further established himself in the city by building a grand home across from the County Jail in 1908. By 1910 he ran for Senator and served two terms in the Wisconsin Senate. Wisconsin Senate, District 21
The 21st Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, the district comprises most of Kenosha and Racine counties. The district includes the city of Burlington and part of the city of Racine, as well as the villages of Bristol, Caledonia, Paddock Lake, Pleasant Prairie, Rochester, Salem Lakes, Sturtevant, Twin Lakes, and Union Grove, and the portions of the villages of Mount Pleasant and Somers west of Wisconsin Highway 31. Wisconsin State Senate
The Wisconsin Senate is the upper house of the Wisconsin State Legislature. Together with the larger Wisconsin State Assembly they constitute the legislative branch of the state of Wisconsin. The powers of the Wisconsin Senate are modeled after those of the U.S. Senate. The Wisconsin Constitution ties the size of the State Senate to that of the Assembly, by limiting its size to no less than 1/4, nor more than 1/3, of the size of the Assembly. Currently, Wisconsin is divided into 33 Senate Districts (1/3 of the current Assembly membership of 99) apportioned throughout the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 33 senators. Waushara County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 24,520. Its county seat is Wautoma. Waushara County is located in central Wisconsin, about north of Madison. History Waushara County was established by an act of the Wisconsin Legislature on February 15, 1851. It originally consisted of a single organized Town of Waushara. In 1852 the county achieved full organization. The county seat was first located at Sacramento and was relocated to Wautoma in 1854 after a bitter fight between proponents of the two places. The Waushara County Courthouse, Waushara County Sheriff's Residence and Jail is a pair of buildings in Wautoma, Wisconsin that are together listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The Waushara County Sheriff's Residence and Jail is a brick Georgian Revival building (pictured at right) at 221 S Ste. Marie Street designed by C. H. Williams and built in 1908 The sheriff and his family lived in the front and the jail cells were in back. This building is now a museum of the Waushara County Historical Society.
