Edward Annan
Edward Annan also as Eddie Annan (born 22 February 1945) is a Ghanaian entrepreneur, politician, and art collector. He is the co-owner and co-founder of the Ghanaian domestic airline Passion Air. He is a member of the National Democratic Congress. He is a former board chairman of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. Early life and education Edward Annan was born on 22 February 1945 to William Edward Annan and Beatrice Patricia Davis in Kumasi, Ashanti Region. He had his secondary school education at Mfantsipim School. He obtained a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Bremen in Germany. Career Annan returned to Ghana and established Masai Developers Limited, a development company in 1977. Kumasi
Kumasi (historically spelled Comassie or Coomassie, usually spelled Kumase in Twi) is a city in the Ashanti Region, and is among the largest metropolitan areas in Ghana. Kumasi is located in a rain forest region near Lake Bosomtwe, and is the commercial, industrial, and cultural capital of the historical Ashanti Empire. Mfantsipim School Alumni
Mfantsipim is an all-boys boarding secondary school in Cape Coast, Ghana, established by the Methodist Church in 1876 to foster intellectual, moral, and spiritual growth on the then Gold Coast. Its founding name was Wesleyan High School and the first headmaster was James Picot, a French scholar, who was only 18 years old on his appointment. After changing its name to Wesleyan Collegiate School and Richmond College, the school, in 1905, merged with another Cape-Coast-based public high school established by John Mensah Sarbah (an old student of Wesley High School), who had established his own school called "Mfantsipim" as a rival of the Methodist-run school. John Mensah Sarbah died five years after the merger, at the age of 46, leaving the school wholly in the hands of the Methodist Church. Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu is a Ghanaian politician and a businessman. Iddrisu was a member of the Provisional National Defence Council and he is a former Minister for Defence. He is a founding member of the National Democratic Congress. He is the longest-serving Minister of Defence of Ghana, serving from 1985 to 1999, for 14 years. John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills (21 July 1944 – 24 July 2012) was a Ghanaian politician and legal scholar who served as President of Ghana from 2009 until his death in 2012.
