Edvin Wide
Emil Edvin Wide (22 February 1896 – 19 June 1996) was a Swedish middle-distance and long-distance runner. Biography Born in Finland as Emil Edvin Hermansson, Wide moved to Sweden in 1918. He competed for Sweden at the 1920 Summer Olympics in the 3000 metre team event, winning a bronze medal, together with Eric Backman and Sven Lundgren. At the 1924 Olympics he won a silver medal in the 10,000 m behind Ville Ritola of Finland. He also finished third in the 5,000 m, behind Ville Ritola and Paavo Nurmi. At the 1928 Summer Olympics the 5,000 metre medals went to the same people as in 1924, only the Finns swapped medals, leaving Edvin with his third Olympic bronze medal. He then finished behind the same two yet again for the third time in Olympic competition to win the bronze medal in the 10,000 metres. Edvin Sugarev (Bulgarian: Едвин Сугарев), (born 27 December 1953) in Sofia, is a Bulgarian poet and politician. He graduated from Sofia University in 1979. Edvin Ozolin
Edvin Sigizmundovich Ozolin (russian: Эдвин Сигизмундович Озолин, born 12 February 1939) is a retired Soviet runner and athletics coach. He competed in various sprint events at the 1960 and 1964 Olympics and won a silver medal in the 4×100 m relay. He won four medals in the relay at the European championships in 1958 and 1966 and at the Summer Universiade in 1961 and 1965. Individually he won 200 m at the 1963 and 1965 Universiade. Ozolin was born in Leningrad. He took up athletics in 1955 and soon became the best Soviet sprinter of the 1960s, winning 16 national titles: in the 100 m (1959–1963), 200 m (1960–1961 and 1963), 4×100 m relay (1957, 1961, 1965–1966, and 1968) and 200 m hurdles (1963 and 1967). Later he had a long career as a coach. In 1984–1992 he headed the Soviet sprinting and hurdling team and in 1992–2003 the Malaysian track and field team. He wrote several textbooks on sprint running. Edvin Marton (born Lajos Edvin Csűry, 17 February 1974, Vylok, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian-born Hungarian composer and violinist. He became known as the violinist of the skaters, mainly because Evgeni Plushenko, Stéphane Lambiel, Yuzuru Hanyu (as a tribute to Plushenko), and other famous skaters often skated to his music. Biography He was born in an area of Ukraine largely inhabited by ethnic Hungarians. He was born into a musical family and by the age of four was already learning the violin from his parents. He was eight years old when accepted into that alma mater for the most talented musicians of the Soviet Union, the Central Tchaikowsky Music School in Moscow to study under Leo Lundstrem. He continued his studies with Eugenia Tchougaeva. He gave his first important concert at the age of twelve, with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra.
