Edvard Moseid
Edvard Moseid (born 18 April 1945) is a Norwegian animal expert and former zoo and amusement park director. Personal life Moseid was born in Vennesla, a son of farmers Endre Moseid and Sigrid Andersen, and is a grandson of politician Gabriel Moseid. Career Moseid was appointed director of the Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park after the founder and first director of the zoo, Willi Tjomsaas, was sacked by the board of the zoo, until his retirement in 2000. Prior to his appointment as the director of the zoo, Moseid received a certification as a gardener, and worked for several years starting from the founding of the zoo in 1964 as the zoo's leading gardener. His landscaping skills and capabilities proved instrumental in the shaping of the zoo, and he became known for the thousands of tulips and other plants he ensured would decorate it throughout his years as gardener and as director. Vennesla is a municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Sørlandet. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Vennesla. Other villages in Vennesla include Grovane, Hægeland, Homstean, Mushom, Øvre Eikeland, Øvrebø, Røyknes, and Skarpengland. Gabriel Moseid
Gabriel Endresen Moseid (10 October 1882 – 4 August 1961) was a Norwegian politician for the Farmers' Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Vest-Agder in 1922, and was re-elected on seven occasions. He had previously served as a deputy representative during the term 1919–1921. On the local level, Moseid was a member of Vennesla municipality council from 1910 to 1922, serving the last term as mayor. Originally a member of the Liberal Party, he eventually joined the Farmers' Party who broke out of the Liberal Party in 1922. He sat on the national board of the Farmers' Party from 1922 to 1947. Southern Norway
Southern Norway ( no, Sørlandet; lit. "The Southland") is the geographical region (''landsdel'') along the Skagerrak coast of southern Norway. The region is an informal description since it does not have any governmental function. Cardamom Town (theme Park)
Cardamom Town ( no, Kardemomme by) is a theme park located within the Kristiansand Zoo in Kristiansand, Norway, based on the popular Norwegian children's book ''When the Robbers Came to Cardamom Town'' by Thorbjørn Egner. The theme park, which opened in 1991, was made to look exactly like it looks in the original illustrations in the book. Thorbjørn Egner got to see the theme park while it was under construction, but did not live long enough to see it completed. The theme park comprises 33 houses, eight of which are rental properties. During the summer actors in the park portray the residents of the fictional town. In addition the visitors of the theme park can see the different main characters in the book: Commissioner Bastian and Aunt Sophia, as well as the three robbers, Kasper, Jesper and Jonathan. Thorbjørn Egner
Thorbjørn Egner (12 December 1912 – 24 December 1990) was a Norway, Norwegian playwright, songwriter and illustrator known principally for his books, plays and musicals for children. He is principally associated with his narratives for children including ''Karius og Baktus'' (1949) and ''People and Robbers of Cardemon Town, Folk og røvere i Kardemomme by '' (1955). Biography He grew up in the working-class neighbourhood Kampen, Norway, Kampen in Oslo, Norway. His parents were Magnus Egner (1872–1952) and Anna Hansen (1874–1957). Captain Sabertooth (in Norwegian: Kaptein Sabeltann) is a long running series that centers around the eponymous pirate Captain Sabertooth, who was created and was originally portrayed by the Norwegian singer, composer, author and actor Terje Formoe. The series comprises several stage plays, theatrical films, a television series, cartoons, and books, all of which are aimed at small children. The series was first launched as a series of stage plays. The first play, ''Captain Sabertooth and the Treasure in Luna Bay'', was first performed in Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park in Norway where Formoe was Director of Entertainment. Terje Falk Formoe (born 6 December 1949) is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, actor, playwright and author. Background Born in Fredrikstad, Norway, he was educated as a schoolteacher. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works.
