Eduardo Freitas
Eduardo Freitas (born October 27, 1961) is a Portuguese motorsports official and race director. Freitas served as the race director for FIA Gran Turismo, the European Touring Car Championship, the European Le Mans Series, the Asian Le Mans Series and the World Endurance Championship from 2002 to 2022. In this role, Freitas oversaw the logistics of sports car, touring cars and endurance racing weekends, ensuring cars, tracks, and drivers conform to FIA regulations before, during, and after a race. In 2022, he replaced former race director Michael Masi, as Formula One race director alongside Niels Wittich. Early life Freitas was born on October 27, 1961, in Portugal. Freitas described his teenage years, passion for motorcycles, around 1977, as "having fun on weekends repairing two-stroke engines on small motorcycles". FIA GT Championship
The FIA GT Championship was a sports car racing series organized by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO) at the behest of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship was mostly concentrated in Europe, but throughout the years has visited other continents including Asia and South America. At the end of 2009, the championship was replaced by the FIA GT1 World Championship, which morphed into the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup, FIA GT Series for 2013. Portimão () is a city and a municipality in the district of Faro, in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. The population in 2011 was 55,614, in an area of 182.06 km2. Carlos Sainz Vázquez de Castro (; born 1 September 1994), otherwise known as Carlos Sainz Jr. or simply Carlos Sainz, is a Spanish racing driver currently competing in Formula One for Scuderia Ferrari. 2022 Japanese Grand Prix
The 2022 Japanese Grand Prix (officially known as the Formula 1 Honda Japanese Grand Prix 2022) was a Formula One motor race held on 9 October 2022 at the Suzuka International Racing Course in Suzuka, Japan. Max Verstappen secured his second World Championship title after finishing first, in front of Sergio Pérez and Charles Leclerc. Despite only 28 of the scheduled 53 laps being completed full points were awarded due to a loophole in the regulations regarding how points should be allocated with the rules stating that reduced points should only be awarded in shortened races that end under red flag conditions.
