Eduardo Arozamena Medal
The Eduardo Arozamena Medal, ( es, Medalla Eduardo Arozamena), is an accolade bestowed by the National Association of Actors to honor actors who have contributed fifty years to the industry of Mexican cinema. Another familiar prize called the Virginia Fábregas Medal awards actors who have twenty-five years. The medal was originally instituted by singer-actor Jorge Negrete, who was the association's secretary-general in 1951, and who wanted to honor the memory of actor Eduardo Arozamena who died that same year. Mexican Cinema
Mexican cinema dates to the late nineteenth century during the rule of President Porfirio Díaz. Seeing a demonstration of short films in 1896, Díaz immediately saw the importance of documenting his presidency in order to present an ideal image of it. With the outbreak of the Mexican Revolution in 1910, Mexican and foreign makers of silent films seized the opportunity to document its leaders and events. From 1915 onward, Mexican cinema focused on narrative film. During the Golden Age of Mexican cinema from 1936 to 1956, Mexico all but dominated the Latin American film industry. National Association Of Actors
The National Association of Actors ( es, Asociación Nacional de Actores, ANDA) is the Mexican actors guild. It is a member of the Bloque Latinoamericano de Actores (BLADA, the Latin American Actors' Block) that includes all of the actors' unions in Latin America. The ANDA is headquartered in the ''colonia'' (borough) San Rafael of Mexico City and currently presided by Yolanda Cianí as general secretary. ANDA began in 1934 as an independent union of actors guilds from throughout Mexico. When Angel T. Jorge Negrete
Jorge Alberto Negrete Moreno (; 30 November 1911 – 5 December 1953) was a Mexican singer and actor. Life and career Negrete was born in the city of Guanajuato and had two brothers and three sisters; his father was a Mexican Army Colonel who fought with the Revolutionary faction called Northern Division (''División del Norte''); however, around 1920, he quit his military career and moved with his family to Mexico City. There he found a job as a math teacher in several institutions, such as the German College "Alexander Von Humboldt"; there his sons David and Jorge studied until middle school, and as a result, they became fluent in the German language. María Esperanza Jacqueline Andere-Aguilar (born August 20, 1938) is a Mexican actress. Life and career Andere was born in a Jewish family located Mexico City on August 20 1938. Her appearances in telenovelas began with 1960's '' Vida por Vida'', and one of her major roles as a villainess was in '' La Madrastra'' opposite Victoria Ruffo and ''Peregrina''.
