Eduardas Eismuntas (March 15, 1932 – 2019) was a former KGB officer of the Lithuanian SSR. In October 1987, he was promoted to Major General. From April 1987 to May 1990, he was the chairman of the KGB of the Lithuanian SSR. His tenure coincided with the Sąjūdis movement and declaration of independence on 11 March 1990. Eismuntas was born in Kaunas, Lithuania. He joined the Soviet security apparatus in 1950 and the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1953. He graduated from the Vilnius Operational School in 1952, Vilnius University in 1964, and Academy of Foreign Intelligence in 1968. From 1952 to 1978, Eismuntas worked in various capacities at the KGB of the Lithuanian SSR. In 1978, he was transferred to KGB in Moscow and worked as deputy director of the 2nd Section of the Fifth Department (1978–1982) and director of the 3rd Section of the Fifth Department (1982–1987). Eduardas Kurskis (born 17 October 1976 in Šiauliai) is a retired Lithuanian professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Career He started his career with Kaunas before leaving for first-team action at hometown Kareda Šiauliai. He returned to Kaunas in 2000, where his performances earned him selection for the Lithuanian national side between 2002 and 2003. Eduardas Rozentalis (born 27 May 1963 in Vilnius) is a Lithuanian chess grandmaster. He played for the Lithuanian team in every Chess Olympiad since 1992, except in 2000 and 2012. Rozentalis won the Lithuanian Chess Championship in 1981, 1983 (jointly with Aloyzas Kveinys) and 2002. In 1995 he tied for first in the Canadian Open Chess Championship. He also tied for first, with 6/9, in the 2008 staging of this event, in Montreal. At the Rilton Cup 2005/6 in Stockholm he was shared 1st with Normunds Miezis, Sergey Ivanov, Tomi Nybäck and Evgeny Postny. In 2009/10 he tied for 1st-5th with Radosław Wojtaszek, Pavel Ponkratov, Luke McShane and Igor Lysyj at the 39th Rilton Cup in Stockholm.
