Eduard Dämel
Eduard C. F. Dämel also Damel, Daemel (1821–3 September 1900) was a German entomologist. Dämel was an insect dealer in Hamburg. He spent the years 1867–1874 in Queensland, Australia, where he collected insects and other natural history material (including botanical specimens for his dealership and for the Museum Godeffroy). Dämel was the agent for Jacob Boll, a Swiss born entomologist who lived in Texas. Boll supplied insects from the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. Dämel and another Hamburg entomologist working in Australia, Amalie Dietrich, collected the butterflies described by Georg Semper in 1879 in "''Beitrag zur Rhopalocerenfauna von Australien'' ". (''J. Eduard Model Accessories is a Czech manufacturer of plastic models and finescale model accessories. Formed in 1989 in the city of Most, Eduard began in a rented cellar as a manufacturer of photoetched brass model components. Following the success of their early products, the company branched off into plastic models in 1993. As of 2006, Eduard's product line contained some 30 plastic kits and more than 800 individual photoetch detail sets. To the plastic modeller community at large, Eduard has become a household word in the field of photoetched parts, and their products are available worldwide. Georg Semper
Georg Semper (August 3, 1837 in Altona, Hamburg – February 21, 1909) was a German entomologist who specialised in Lepidoptera.
His Philippine Lepidoptera are in Senckenberg Museum, Frankfurt am Main and his Indomalaya and Australasia specimens are in Staatliches Museum für Tierkunde Dresden. His European insects are in Museum Schleswig-Holstein, Landesk and in the zoological collections of the University of Hamburg.
He wrote "Beitrag zur Rhopalocerenfauna von Australien" in the ''Journal des Museum Godeffroy'' 14: 138-194, pls 8, 9 (1878) and ''Die Schmetterlinge der Philippinischen Inseln. ''Hemiaspis damelii'' is a species of venomous snake in the family Elapidae. It is a relatively small species of elapid with a mean snout-vent length (SVL) of . The species is endemic to eastern Australia and is most commonly found across central inland New South Wales through to the interior of south-eastern Queensland. Common names for this species include grey snake and Dämel's Snake. The specific name, ''damelii'', is in honor of German entomologist Edward Dämel, who collected Australian specimens for Museum Godeffroy. Description ''H. damelii'' is a relatively small snake with an average snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 50 centimetres (20 inches).
