Edson Rontani ( Piracicaba, March 23, 1933 – Piracicaba, February 24, 1997) was a Brazilian illustrator and fanzine editor, known for having created the first Brazilian fanzine about comics. Career Graduated in Law from Methodist University of Piracicaba The Methodist University of Piracicaba (Portuguese: ''Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba''), also known as Unimep, is a Brazilian private higher education institution located in the state of São Paulo. The university offers teaching, research ..., he never worked as a lawyer, preferring to be an artist. In the 1940s, he created the mascot of the XV de Novembro football team, from Piracicaba, which the team still wears today. Piracicaba ( or ) is a city located in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. The population is 407,252 (2020) in an area of 1378.07 km². It is at an elevation of 547 m above sea level. Omelete is a Brazilian entertainment website created in 2000 by Érico Borgo, Marcelo Forlani and Marcelo Hessel that covers some subjects of pop culture such as movies, comics, music, television and video games. Esporte Clube XV de Novembro, commonly referred to as XV de Piracicaba, is a professional association football club based in Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil. Universo HQ ("Comics Universe") is a Brazilian website about comics and considered the most important Brazilian information source on comics-related news. History Universo HQ was created by Samir Naliato and first aired on January 5, 2000. After six months, he invited the journalist Sidney Gusman to become the website's editor. Master of National Comics ( pt-BR, Mestre do Quadrinho Nacional) is one of the categories of Prêmio Angelo Agostini, the most traditional Brazilian award dedicated to comics that has been held since 1985 by Associação dos Quadrinhistas e Caricaturistas do Estado de São Paulo (AQC-ESP).
