A make-up artist, also called a makeup artist, and often shortened to MUA, is an artist whose medium is the human body, applying makeup and prosthetics on others for theatre, television, film, fashion, magazines and other similar productions including all aspects of the modeling industry. ''The Wolfman'' is a 2010 American horror film directed by Joe Johnston, from a screenplay by Andrew Kevin Walker and David Self. A remake of the 1941 film '' The Wolf Man'', it stars Benicio del Toro (who also produces), Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving. In the film, after his brother is brutally murdered, an American actor named Lawrence Talbot (del Toro) returns to his ancestral homeland where he is bitten by a werewolf and cursed to become one. Mark Romanek was originally attached to direct the film but left weeks before filming due to creative differences and budgetary issues. ''The Return of the King'' is the third and final volume of J. R. R. Tolkien's ''The Lord of the Rings'', following '' The Fellowship of the Ring'' and '' The Two Towers''. It was published in 1955. The Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling is the Academy Award given to the best achievement in makeup and hairstyling for film. Traditionally, three films have been nominated each year with exceptions in the early 1980s and 2002 when there were only two nominees; in 1999, when there were four nominees. Beginning with the 92nd Academy Awards, five films were nominated. The competitive category was created in 1981 as the Academy Award for Best Makeup, after the Academy received complaints that the makeup work in ''The Elephant Man'' (1980) was not going to be honored. ''The Far Side of the World'' is the tenth historical novel in the Aubrey-Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian, first published in 1984. The story is set during the Napoleonic Wars and the War of 1812.
