Edmonton Cracker-Cats
The Edmonton Capitals, originally the Edmonton Cracker-Cats, were a Canadian professional independent minor league baseball team that played between 2005 and 2011 in several leagues. The Capitals are based in Edmonton, Alberta, and are currently inactive as they do not belong to any league. The team was founded in 2005 as the Edmonton Cracker-Cats and, with their provincial brethren the Calgary Vipers, joined the Northern League as part of that league's attempt to expand its footprint in Canada. The Cracker-Cats moved to the Golden Baseball League in 2008 and were sold to Daryl Katz, the owner of the Edmonton Oilers, in 2009. The team adopted the name Capitals after Katz's purchase and also adopted the same colors as their corporate sibling. The team last played in 2011 as a member of the North American League. Mike Busch (baseball)
Michael Anthony Busch (born July 7, 1968) is an American former professional baseball player and manager. He played in Major League Baseball as a third baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and also in the KBO League for the Hanwha Eagles. Busch is an alumnus of Iowa State University where he played both baseball and American football. As a senior in 1989 he was a consensus All-American in football. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 4th round of the 1990 MLB amateur draft. He made his Major League Baseball debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 30, 1995, becoming the first replacement player to be promoted to a regular MLB roster after the 1994 Major League Baseball strike. The Fullerton Flyers were a professional baseball team based in Fullerton, California, in the United States. They were an independent franchise, not affiliated with either Major League Baseball ''or'' Minor League Baseball. The team played from 2005 to 2010 and their home stadium was at "The Station" at Goodwin Field, which is also the home field for the Cal State Fullerton Titans. The Flyers were an original charter team of the Golden Baseball League. After the collapse of that league, they were scheduled to join the new independent North American League, but sat out the 2011 season as they negotiated plans for a new stadium with the city of Fullerton. Louis William Pote (born August 21, 1971) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Anaheim Angels and Cleveland Indians. Early career Pote was originally drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 1990. He began his professional career the following season with the Arizona League Giants, and continued to pitch in the Giants farm system until 1995, when he was traded to the Montreal Expos. He was released by Montreal near the end of spring training in 1997, eventually signing with the St. Louis Cardinals in August. Michael Keith Johnson (born October 3, 1975) is a Canadian former professional baseball pitcher who pitched all or part of five seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), and also played in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), KBO League, and the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). Career Johnson was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1993 Major League Baseball draft, then made his MLB debut on April 6, 1997 with the Baltimore Orioles going on to play for the Orioles (1997) and Montreal Expos (1997–2001). Ryan Ashley Radmanovich (born August 9, 1971) is a Canadian former baseball outfielder. He played part of one season in Major League Baseball (MLB), appearing in 25 games for the Seattle Mariners in 1998, primarily as a right fielder. Career Radmanovich is a graduate of Pepperdine University. He was drafted by the Minnesota Twins (14th round, 401 overall) in the 1993 MLB draft. Radmanovich went on to play 25 games with the Seattle Mariners. He finished his professional playing career with the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball in 2009.
