Edgar Jones (basketball)
Edgar Jones (born June 17, 1956) is a retired American professional basketball player who had a career the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1980 to 1986. Career In his sophomore year playing college basketball for the University of Nevada, Reno, Jones led the school to a 15 - 12 win, the Nevada Wolf Packs first win in eight seasons. During his time playing for the Wolf Pack (1975–79), Jones set the school's all-time points total record (1,877); a record which stood until broken by the Wolf Pack's Nick Fazekas on November 18, 2006. Jones' jersey number 32 was officially retired by the University of Nevada upon his retirement, he was the first Wolf Pack player to be given this honor. After his graduation, Jones was taken in the second round (ninth pick) of the 1979 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. Fort Rucker, Alabama
Fort Rucker is a U.S. Army post located primarily in Dale County, Alabama, United States. It was named for a Civil War officer, Confederate General Edmund Rucker. The post is the primary flight training installation for U.S. Army Aviators and is home to the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE) and the United States Army Aviation Museum. Small sections of the post also lie in Coffee, Geneva, and Houston counties. Part of the Dale County section of the base is a census-designated place; its population was 4,636 at the 2010 census. The main post has entrances from three bordering cities, Daleville, Ozark and Enterprise. The Continental Basketball Association Rookie of the Year was an annual award given to the best rookie(s) of the regular season of the CBA. The award was given to players on their first CBA season and with no prior professional experience. The NBA Slam Dunk Contest (officially known as the AT&T Slam Dunk) is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) competition held during the NBA All-Star Weekend. ''Sports Illustrated'' wrote "the dunk contest was the best halftime invention since the bathroom." The contest was conceived of and started by the American Basketball Association (ABA) for its 1976 ABA All-Star Game in Denver. The winner was Julius Erving of the New York Nets. Nicholas Ryan Fazekas (born June 17, 1985) is an American-born Japanese professional basketball player for the Kawasaki Brave Thunders of the B.League in Japan. Early career Fazekas attended Ralston Valley High School in Arvada, Colorado where he earned the statewide Mr. Basketball Colorado honor for the 2002–03 season along with being a two-time 4A classification player of the year. As a senior, he led the Mustangs to a 25–2 record and a state championship after an undefeated regular season and semi-finals appearance the previous year. During his high school career he wore number 22 and he continued to do so in college. College career Fazekas was signed by the University of Nevada for the 2003–04 season.
