Glory Emmanuel Edet
Glory Emmanuel Edet is a Nigerian princess and women & child-rights activist. She is a two-time Commissioner for Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare in Akwa Ibom state. She was first appointed in 2013, and re-appointed for the same position in 2015 by Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. In 2015, she started an empowerment scheme for widows which selected participants equally from all 31 local government areas of the State. The scheme provided the widows with stat-up funds to float their businesses. In support of vulnerable children in Akwa-Ibom state, Glory Emmanuel Edet has worked with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH). Chief Louis Orok Edet QPM (1914–1979) was the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force from 1964–1966. He was the first indigenous Nigerian to occupy the position. He was briefly the chairman of the Nigerian Football Association in the early 1960s. He was born in Calabar to the family of Edet Essien and Geraldine Orok. Victor Edet (born 24 February 1966) is a retired Nigerian sprinter. Individually he won the bronze medal in the 100 metres at the 1985 African Championships and competed in the 60 and 200 metres at the 1985 World Indoor Championships without reaching the final. In the 4 x 100 metres relay he competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics without reaching the final, won a gold medal at the 1985 African Championships, and also finished seventh with the African team at the 1985 World Cup. Donatus Edet Akpan
Donatus Edet Akpan (born 1952) is the current bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ogoja. Akpan was born in Ikat Ada Utor. This is within the area covered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ikot Ekpene. He studied at Queen of Angels Minor Seminary and then at Bigard Memorial Seminary of Enugu and St. Joseph Major Seminary also in Enugu. He was ordained a priest in October 1985. He went on to do advanced studies in biblical theology at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Early life and education Edet James Amana, Officer of Order of the Niger (OON) was born December 11, 1938, in Oyubia Oron, Akwa Ibom State was educated at Methodist College, Uzuakoli and King's College, Lagos. Biography Belzberg received a B.A. in 1991 from the University of Colorado, Boulder and an M.A. in 1997 from the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University. Joseph Edet Akinwale Wey (6 March 1918 – 12 December 1991) was a Nigerian Navy Vice Admiral who served as head of the Nigerian Navy (i.e. Chief of Naval Staff), acting foreign minister, and chief of staff of the Supreme Headquarters, making him the de facto vice president of Nigeria during Yakubu Gowon's regime.
