Lilla Edet
Lilla Edet is a locality and the seat of Lilla Edet Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 4,862 inhabitants in 2010. Lilla Edet was the smallest of three settlements that were burnt down in Sweden on 25 June 1888. The wooden towns of Sundsvall and Umeå were almost completely destroyed. The triple fire was widely reported and one collection in California raised $5,000 and blankets and tents were sent from New Zealand. The town Lilla Edet is situated on the eastern side of the Göta älv, a main river on the west coast of Sweden. It became known as a halt there. The area was known locally as Lilla Edet in comparison to Stora Edet, situated north of Lilla Edet and today known as Trollhättan. Chief Dr Edet Amana (born December 11, 1938) is a Nigerian engineer. Early life and education Edet James Amana, Officer of Order of the Niger (OON) was born December 11, 1938, in Oyubia Oron, Akwa Ibom State was educated at Methodist College, Uzuakoli and King's College, Lagos. He attended Imperial College London (1961-6) where he attained a First class degree in Civil Engineering coming first overall in his graduating class. After which he began working for a British firm of consulting engineers. On his return to Nigeria he was employed as a service engineer for Shell-BP (1968–72). Career In 1972 he set up Amana Consulting Engineers. Over a 15-year period the firm was responsible for the design and implementation of projects valued at about $2bn. Glory Emmanuel Edet
Glory Emmanuel Edet is a Nigerian princess and women & child-rights activist. She is a two-time Commissioner for Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare in Akwa Ibom state. She was first appointed in 2013, and re-appointed for the same position in 2015 by Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. In 2015, she started an empowerment scheme for widows which selected participants equally from all 31 local government areas of the State. The scheme provided the widows with stat-up funds to float their businesses. In support of vulnerable children in Akwa-Ibom state, Glory Emmanuel Edet has worked with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH). Chief Louis Orok Edet QPM (1914–1979) was the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force from 1964–1966. He was the first indigenous Nigerian to occupy the position. He was briefly the chairman of the Nigerian Football Association in the early 1960s. He was born in Calabar to the family of Edet Essien and Geraldine Orok. Edet Belzberg is a documentary filmmaker. She won a 2005 MacArthur Fellowship. Biography Belzberg received a B.A. in 1991 from the University of Colorado, Boulder and an M.A. in 1997 from the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University. She received the Columbia University School of Journalism's John M. Patterson Enterprise Award in 1997 for her documentary short ''A Master Violinist'', about a Chinese political refugee. Victor Edet (born 24 February 1966) is a retired Nigerian sprinter. Individually he won the bronze medal in the 100 metres at the 1985 African Championships and competed in the 60 and 200 metres at the 1985 World Indoor Championships without reaching the final.
