In Abrahamic religions, the Garden of Eden ( he, גַּן־עֵדֶן, ) or Garden of God (, and גַן־אֱלֹהִים ''gan-Elohim''), also called the Terrestrial Paradise, is the Bible, biblical paradise described in Book of Genesis, Genesis 2-3 and Book of Ezekiel, Ezekiel 28 and 31. Eden is a city in Rockingham County in the U.S. state of North Carolina. Eden is the largest city in Rockingham County and is part of the Greensboro-High Point Metropolitan Statistical Area of the Piedmont Triad metro region. As of the 2020 census, the population was 15,405. From the late nineteenth century through much of the 20th, the city was a center of textile mills and manufacturing. Eden near Gardner, Louisiana is a house built perhaps around 1850. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is a central hall plan house, two rooms deep, with a rear ell wing. While family history suggests it was built around 1830 by Pleasant H. Hunter, evidence such as its heavy ogee moldings suggest a later date. In 1984, its original four chimneys and four aedicule style mantels survived.
