Edel-optics.de Arena
The Edel-optics.de Arena (known until May 2017 as Inselparkhalle) is a multi-function sports facility in the Wilhelmsburg district of Hamburg with a sports hall and a swimming pool. The hall is the home venue of the first division basketball team Hamburg Towers. It is owned by the Benno and Inge Behrens Foundation, and operated by the InselAkademie Sport- und Schulungszentrum Wilhelmsburg GmbH. History The sports hall was originally an exhibition site built for the International Garden Show 2013. Construction began in October 2011 and was completed in the spring of 2013. Work on the swimming pool began in June 2011 and was completed in May 2013. After the garden show, the hall was converted into a sports hall at a cost of €14 million, of which the Benno and Inge Behrens Foundation contributed over €6 million. €4.5 million of funding was provided from the Hamburg International Building Exhibition, and the city of Hamburg paid the remainder, a little over €3.5 million. 2016 European Darts Matchplay
The 2016 European Darts Matchplay is the fourth of ten PDC European Tour events on the 2016 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament takes place at Inselparkhalle in Hamburg, Germany, between 13–15 May 2016. It featured a field of 48 players and £115,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion, but he lost in the semi-finals to the winner of the tournament, James Wade, who defeated Dave Chisnall 6–5 in the final. Futsal
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hardcourt, hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and Indoor soccer, indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, it is played on a hard court surface marked by lines; walls or boards are not used. It is played with a smaller, harder, lower-bounce ball than football. 2018 Wheelchair Basketball World Championship
The 2018 Wheelchair Basketball World Championship was held at the Edel-optics.de Arena in Hamburg, Germany, from 16 to 26 August 2018. Both men's and women's tournaments were held, with 12 women's and 16 men's teams competing, representing 19 different nations. Each team selected 12 players for the tournament. The men's competition was won by Great Britain, with the United States winning silver and Australia winning bronze. The women's competition was won by the Netherlands, with Great Britain winning silver and the host nation winning bronze. An interim championship is an alternate title that is awarded by the sanctioning bodies of professional boxing, and in other combat sports such as kickboxing, professional wrestling, and mixed martial arts. Occasionally, the champion of a particular weight division is temporarily unable to defend his championship because of medical, legal, or other reasons beyond the competitor's control. Jack Robert Culcay-Keth (born 26 September 1985) is an Ecuadorian-born German Professional boxing, professional boxer.
