Basil Ede (12 February 1931—29 September 2016) was an English wildlife artist specialising in avian portraiture, noted for the ornithological precision of his paintings. Early life Basil Ede was born 12 February 1931 in Surrey. Ede's interest in drawing began early in life. As a schoolboy growing up during the Second World War, he filled his exercise books with sketches of military aircraft and caricatures of his school teachers. Piers Moore Ede is a British born writer, with a travel book Honey and Dust published by Bloomsbury in 2005. Born in 1975, he was educated at Winchester College, Exeter University and the University of California, Santa Cruz. While living in San Francisco he was involved in a hit and run accident, during the recovery from which he conceived of his first travel book, a global adventure in search of wild honey. Honey and Dust documents his search for wholeness, while looking for the last of the tribes that still hunt wild honey in jungles and cliffs. He visits Bedouin tribesman in the Syrian desert, Gurung mountain people in Nepal, the Veddhas or Wild Men in Sri Lanka, and even a rooftop beekeeper on the skyscrapers of Manhattan. Jim Ede
Harold Stanley Ede (7 April 1895 – 15 March 1990), also known as Jim Ede, was a British collector of art and friend to artists. Life and career Jim Ede was born in Penarth, Wales, the son of solicitor Edward Hornby Ede and Mildred, a teacher. Ede studied painting under Stanhope Forbes at Newlyn Art School between 1912 and 1914. He was commissioned in September 1914 during the First World War, serving with the South Wales Borderers and the Indian Army. He relinquished his commission in consequence of ill health, and was granted the rank of captain, 29 July 1919. After the war, he continued his studies at the Slade School of Art. In 1921, Ede became assistant curator at the National Gallery of British Art (later the Tate Gallery) in London whilst continuing to study part-time at the Slade. Jan Willem van Ede (born 13 April 1963 in Utrecht) is a retired Dutch football goalkeeper. Playing career Club He played the majority of his career for hometown club FC Utrecht and as of 2017, still holds the record of most Eredivisie games played for the club with 409. He made his professional debut on 8 September 1982 for Utrecht against PEC Zwolle and won the 1985 KNVB Cup with the club. James Luke Ede (born 19 September 1984) is an English cricketer. Ede is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium pace. He was born at Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. George Ede
George Matthew Ede (22 February 1834 — 13 March 1870) was an English people, English first-class cricketer and a Grand National winning jockey. A founding member of Hampshire County Cricket Club, he was the club's first Captain (cricket), captain from 1864 to 1869. In horse racing, he was one of the most successful amateur riders of his age, winning 306 races, including the 1868 Grand National. He was killed two years later from injuries sustained in the 1870 Grand National, 1870 Grand National. Chinedu Ede (born 5 February 1987) is a German former professional footballer who played as a winger. Career Ede began his career with Berlin AK 07 and joined later the Reinickendorfer Füchse.
