Eddie Dunn (actor)
Edward Frank Dunn (March 31, 1896 – May 5, 1951) was an American actor best known for his roles in comedy films, supporting many comedians such as Charley Chase (with whom he co-directed several short films), Charlie Chaplin, W. C. Fields and Laurel and Hardy. Dunn was born in Brooklyn, New York. As a high school student in Waco, Texas, he began performing with some fellow students on a local radio station. He broke into films with the Vitagraph studio in 1915, working with the studio's star comedians Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Drew and Larry Semon. By 1927 he was working with stop-motion animator Charley Bowers at Educational Pictures, as a supporting player in Bowers's live-action comedies. In 1929 his career took a decided turn for the better when he signed with the Hal Roach studio. He became a member of the Roach stock company, appearing prominently in short subjects and featurettes starring Laurel and Hardy, Thelma Todd, and Charley Chase. The Jack Berch Show was a radio variety/talk program in the United States. It was broadcast on ABC, CBS, Mutual, and NBC at various times 1935–1954. The program at times went by other names, including ''The Kitchen Pirate'' (1935–36) and ''The Sweetheart Serenader'' (1939-1941). It began broadcasting on the NBC Television network on June 9, 1946, and ran until January 26, 1947, on Sundays at 8:00 pm EST, immediately before '' Geographically Speaking''. Overview The concept of the show was for a cartoonist to make a drawing of a person whom he had never seen, based on a description given by other people. Originally, the unseen person was in another room. Later in the show, the person was moved onto the stage, separated from the artist by a curtain. This allowed the audience to see the person's face as the drawing took shape. There were also quiz questions, in which participants had to identify people based on clues.
