Eddie Blake (American Football)
Robert Edward Blake (born December 18, 1969) is an American former professional football player who was a offensive guard in the National Football League (NFL) for the Miami Dolphins. He also was a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the Auburn Tigers. Early years Blake attended Lincoln County High School, where he played defensive tackle. His brother Ricky Blake was one of his teammates. He enrolled at Northwest Mississippi Community College. He played offensive tackle and was a two-time first-team J.C. Gridwire. He transferred to Auburn University after his sophomore season. He played mostly at offensive guard, switching to defensive tackle in short-yardage situations. He was the first Auburn two-way player in 14 years. He received All-SEC honors as a senior. Ricky Blake
Ricky Darnell Blake (born July 15, 1967) is a former American football running back in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. He also was a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, San Antonio Riders, Fort Worth Cavalry and Barcelona Dragons. He played college football at Northwest Mississippi Community College. Early years Blake attended Lincoln County High School, where he played running back. He graduated as the school's All-time leading rusher. He enrolled at Northwest Mississippi Community College. As a sophomore in 1987, he set a school record by averaging 166.7 rushing yards-per-game during the season, receiving first-team NJCAA All-American honors. He transferred to Alabama A&M University, but left before the start of the 1988 season, after the football coaching staff was fired. 1994 NFL Season
The 1994 NFL season was the 75th regular season of the National Football League. To honor the NFL's 75th season, a special anniversary logo was designed and each player wore a patch on their jerseys with this logo throughout the season. Also, a selection committee of media and league personnel named a special NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team, honoring the best NFL players from the first 75 seasons. The Phoenix Cardinals changed their name to Arizona Cardinals in an attempt to widen their appeal to the entire state of Arizona instead of just the Phoenix area. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. Injured reserve lists are used because the rules of these leagues allow for only a certain numbers of players on each team's roster. The 1992 NFL season was the 73rd regular season of the National Football League. Due to the damage caused by Hurricane Andrew, the New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins game that was scheduled for September 6 at Joe Robbie Stadium was rescheduled to October 18. Both teams originally had that weekend off. This marked the first time since the 1966 NFL season and the AFL seasons of 1966 and 1967 that there were byes in week 1; in those years, byes were necessary every week since there were an odd number of teams, which would happen again between 1999 and 2001. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dolphins also had their 2017 season opener postponed due to Hurricane Irma. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. 1992 NFL Draft
The 1992 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 26–27, 1992, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season.
