Eddie's Song
"Eddie's Song" is the second and final single from British pop-punk band Son of Dork's debut and only studio album, ''Welcome to Loserville'' (2005). Released on 16 January 2006, the single peaked at number 10 on the UK Singles Chart as well as number 24 in Ireland. The single was the group's final release before being dropped by Mercury Records. Music video The video is fronted by ex-rhythm guitarist Dave Williams. He is seen to be a rockstar that has sex with many women, with the women quoting things in newspapers about Eddie, such as "Eddie rocks my world". The video then ends up with newspaper headlines, such as "Eddie had sex with my girlfriend". The video is of Son of Dork playing at a show. The reasoning behind the title of the song is that Son of Dork were thinking of a rock star with the first name of "Eddie", presumably the rock star Eddie Van Halen. Son Of Dork
Son of Dork were a British pop punk band formed by James Bourne after his previous band, Busted, split in January 2005. The name of the band came from a scene in the 1990 film '' Problem Child'' where the chant "Son of Dork" is used. Their debut single, "Ticket Outta Loserville", was released in November 2005, reaching No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart. Their second single, "Eddie's Song", reached No. 10 in January 2006. Formation James Bourne placed adverts in publications such as NME and The Stage in order to recruit potential band members for his new project. The members that were chosen had all been involved in bands. Busted are an English pop punk band from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, consisting of James Bourne, Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson. Formed in 2000, the band had four UK number-one singles, won two Brit awards, released four studio albums and sold over 5 million records. The band released '' Busted'' in 2002 and ''A Present for Everyone'' in 2003 before disbanding in January 2005. ''Welcome to Loserville'' is the only studio album from British pop punk band Son of Dork. The album was released on 21 November 2005 by Mercury Records. The album was later adapted into a musical, "Loserville the Musical", by band member James Bourne and writer Elliot Davis commissioned and performed by Youth Music Theatre UK and presented at the South Hill Park Arts Centre, Bracknell, in 2009. The show was subsequently retitled "Loserville" and produced professionally by Kevin Wallace, TC Beech and Youth Music Theatre UK at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.
