Ed Walsh (ice Hockey)
Edward Walsh (born August 18, 1951) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender who played three games in the World Hockey Association for the Edmonton Oilers. Early life Walsh was born in Somerville, Massachusetts. As a youth, he played in the 1963 and 1964 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor ice hockey team from Boston. He later played goaltender for Boston University. Career Waksh spent most of his career in the minors with the American Hockey League Nova Scotia Voyageurs, Rochester Americans and Springfield Indians. The Division I AHCA All-American Teams are an annual honor bestowed by the American Hockey Coaches Association to the college hockey players judged to be the top performers in their division. Each team is composed of at least one goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards on ice hockey programs. At least one all-star team has been named by the since the start of NCAA tournament play in 1947–48 after the conclusion of either the regular season or the conference tournaments. Richard Joseph Meagher (born November 2, 1953) is a Canadian former ice hockey player. Meagher played almost 700 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Montreal Canadiens, Hartford Whalers, New Jersey Devils and St. Louis Blues. He won the Selke Trophy in 1990 with the Blues. he was a scout for the St. Louis Blues. The 1973–74 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began in October 1973 and concluded with the 1974 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game on March 16, 1974 at the Boston Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. This was the 27th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held and is the 80th year overall where an NCAA school fielded a team. In the summer of 1973 the NCAA changed the classifications of the tiers in each of their sponsored sports. The University- and College-divisions were done away with and replaced by numerical designations making this the first official Division I season. The NIT held a competing ice hockey tournament for the first time.
