Edward Clarence "Ed" Kent (September 19, 1859 – December 12, 1943) was a Major League Baseball pitcher who played from with the Toledo Blue Stockings. He batted and threw right-handed. Kent was born in 1859 in Stockport, New York Stockport is a town in Columbia County, New York, United States. The population was 2,670 at the 2020 census, down from 2,815 at the 2010 census. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk.
