Ed Jeffers
Edward Francis Jeffers (December 6, 1921 – April 4, 2010) was a professional American football guard. He was a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star with Clusters, Bronze Star Medal with Clusters and two Purple Hearts. The Purple Heart (PH) is a United States military decoration awarded in the name of the President to those wounded or killed while serving, on or after 5 April 1917, with the U.S. military. Brooklyn Dodgers (AAFC) Players
The Brooklyn Dodgers were a Major League Baseball team founded in 1884 as a member of the American Association before joining the National League in 1890. They remained in Brooklyn until 1957, after which the club moved to Los Angeles, California, where it continues its history as the Los Angeles Dodgers.
