The Nathan Eckstein Middle School (originally Nathan Eckstein Junior High School) is an American middle school located in Seattle, Washington, and is part of Seattle Public Schools. History Eckstein Middle School is part of the Seattle Public School District and located on the border of the Wedgwood and Ravenna neighborhoods. It was named after Nathan Eckstein, a Seattle businessman, Seattle School Board member, and onetime director of Seattle Public Schools. Yechiel Eckstein (; July 11, 1951 – February 6, 2019) was an Israeli American rabbi who founded International Fellowship of Christians and Jews in 1983 and led it for many years. The objectives of the organisation were to support Jews in need of financial help, to promote emigration of Jews to Israel, and to support poor soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces. His family emigrated from Germany before World War II to Mexico, which is where he was raised. Otto Eckstein (August 1, 1927 – March 22, 1984) was a German-American economist. He was a key developer and proponent of the theory of core inflation , which proposed that in determining accurate metrics of long run inflation, the transitory price changes of items subject to volatile pricing, such as food and energy, are to be excluded from computation. Eckstein was born in Germany in 1927 to a Jewish business family. In 1938, when he was 11 years old, he and several other family members fled the Nazi regime, first emigrating to England, and then, a year later, moving to the United States, where he made his permanent home.
