Dietrich Eckart
Dietrich Eckart (; 23 March 1868 – 26 December 1923) was a German '' völkisch'' poet, playwright, journalist, publicist, and political activist who was one of the founders of the German Workers' Party, the precursor of the Nazi Party. Eckart was a key influence on Adolf Hitler in the early years of the Party, the original publisher of the party newspaper, the ''Völkischer Beobachter'' ("Völkisch Observer"), and the lyricist of the first party anthem, '' Sturmlied'' ("Storming Song"). He was a participant in the failed Beer Hall Putsch in 1923 and died on 26 December of that year, shortly after his release from Landsberg Prison, from a heart attack. Eckart was elevated to the status of a major thinker upon the establishment of Nazi Germany in 1933, and was acknowledged by Hitler to be the spiritual co-founder of Nazism, and "a guiding light of the early National Socialist movement." Carl Eckart
Carl Henry Eckart (May 4, 1902 – October 23, 1973) was an American physicist, physical oceanographer, geophysicist, and administrator. He co-developed the Wigner–Eckart theorem and is also known for the Eckart conditions in quantum mechanics, and the Eckart–Young theorem in linear algebra. Early life Eckart was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He began college in 1919 at Washington University in St. Louis where he received his B.S. and M.S. degrees with a major in engineering. However, due to Arthur Holly Compton, a physics faculty member and later Chancellor, Eckart was influenced to continue his education in physics at Princeton, where he went in 1923 on an Edison Lamp Works Research Fellowship. Anselm Eckart
Anselm Eckart (4 August 1721 – 29 June 1809) was a German Jesuit missionary. Eckart was born in Mainz, in what is now Germany. Entering the Society of Jesus at nineteen, he was sent as a missionary to Brazil. Two years after his arrival in that country, he and his Jesuit brethren were arrested in the aftermath of the Távora affair and carried to Portugal. Eckart von Hirschhausen (born 25 August 1967) is a German physician, talk show host and comedian. Academic career Born in Frankfurt, von Hirschhausen studied medicine, supported by a scholarship from the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes (German Academic Scholarship Foundation), at the Free University of Berlin, the University of Heidelberg and the University of London. Eckart Breitschuh (born 16 August 1964 in Karlsruhe) is a German comic-book artist and author. Early life and education Growing up in southern Hesse Darmstadt, Breitschuh was enthusiastic about comics from a young age. He was particularly impressed with comics from the French Caucasus Group, Manfred Schmidt, Nick Static in his early teens, along with some underground American comics, especially from Robert Crumb and S. Clay Wilson. After graduating from college and serving in the civil service, he worked at several jobs over the next few years, including illustration work for advertising agencies, comic art for magazines and was the lead singer in several local bands. He reportedly, in this time, was an avid drug user. In 1988, he started a relationship with the literary scholar Lorraine Flack, and in 1989 they moved in together in Hamburg. Eckart Peter Hans von Klaeden (born 18 November 1965 in Hanover) is a German politician of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) who served as Minister of State at the German Chancellery from 2009 to 2013. Eckart Höfling (28 October 1936 – 1 March 2014) was a German Catholic priest who worked combating poverty in Brazil. Höfling was born in Langenprozelten, Lower Franconia. In 1949 Eckart Höflich completed his schooling in Würzburg and passed the legal clerk exams in 1952. He assumed a position in Karlstadt until 1957, when he joined the Franciscan Order. He was sent to Brazil for the first time in 1959/1960. He studied philosophy and theology and was ordained a priest on December 10, 1966 by the Bishop of Würzburg, Josef Stangl. He was sent to Brazil to lead two parishes there. He was awarded the German Federal Cross of Merit (''Bundesverdienstkreuz'') for his work in 2007, and the Quadriga Award in 2008. Gabriele Eckart (born March 23, 1954 in Falkenstein/Vogtl., Falkenstein/Vogtland), is a German author. Life Gabriele Eckart studied Philosophy from 1972 to 1976 at the Humboldt University of Berlin. She concluded her studies with the completion of her Staatsexamen. In 1979 she took part in a writing course at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. After publishing two collections of her own poetry and a collection of travel memoirs, her next publication was supposed to have been a collection of interviews with people in Havelland. Small excerpts appeared in 1983 and 1984 in literature magazines in the German Democratic Republic, but the publication of the entire text, which contained numerous passages critical of relations in the German Democratic Republic, was prevented by government censorship.
